I have two "What the heck" questions.

    1. I am trying to find where to spice into power behind the gear shift to install a dual usb port. The console cigarette light is back under the console and difficult to get to. Any help would be much appreciated. (see photo below) It was easy to find in my '08. not familiar with the '19 yet.

    2. What the heck is this black box next to my fuse box? The switch shows it is off, but I have no idea what it is. I bought this recently bought this and am still finding stuff the previous owner installed. (see photo with arrows below)

    Thanks in advance,
    Squ1d

    1. Try to find the wiring for the back seat power outlet socket.

    2. Maybe a tracking device

    1. Toyota splices into the factory 12volt outlet wiring for power when you have the dealer install USB ports.

    2. You would have to read a brand or numbers off of that box but it looks like a power supply for a dash cam. It looks like a Blackvue Magic Pro but can't be certain.

If you bought it used then the previous owner would know exactly what it's for.

    1. maybe climbing up to the head unit will give you a good place to tap.

    2. with the dip switches and on/off switch - maybe part of a radar detector?

I personally would run power from the fuse box with at least an add a fuse.

That's a really old dip switch, maybe an alarm or remote control/start unit?

Power for the usb might as well just come from the fuse box since you're already checking that out. And already being apart would be nothing to run it up under the console.

Some old starter kill systems had dipswitches for their remotes. I agree with above to get a much info about it from previous owner (or dealer).

Someone posted the magic box or distribution bos thing what ever.

The best way to add power is an add a fuse if it's small, or run a new line off the battery which could go to the distribution block.

You can get a distribution block that also has an ignition on input and then it can turn certain ports on only when the ignition is on but oulled power from the battery.

I have this on a couple bikes. Would be a really easy way add a very easy to use fuse block in the cab

Good for small stuff as it can handle a total of 30A with each connection at 10A max
