Is it possible to get a 2023 Off Road Premium without the Premium Plus MTM package (usually $850 add on)?

Have several dealers telling me ALL off road premiums come with the MTM add on. While another one telling is possible to get without.

I guess you can email dealerships and ask if they can get one without $850 premium package. You don't want it because of reliability concerns? I wish I could try one with.

Find it to be blurry, and many report the back up camera without the MTM system is clearer. And the big one for me, I just cannot stand the way the front grille looks with that camera sticking out the center - really ruins the aesthetics.

I may be a poor driver both my TRD ORP and Pro I got aftermarket front camera for the trail runs. I just walk to the obstacle, have a plan, then use the front camera and head out the window to execute the plan.

Always enjoy your videos - informative. You have both 4Runners just for yourself, or share with family?

But, yes, I’ve been driving for many years - even past jobs, one for four years, that required pretty much daily 4x4 driving over rough terrain/Rocky bad roads, and did ok with no trail cameras. Just one more thing that can break. But I do see the convenience - parents had the 360 camera on their Nissan Maxima and was useful for entering/exiting their garage as their driveway had a tight angle into a d out of their garage.

But for me would prefer the ORP without.

Mainly the Limited for my wife and TRD for my use. But having a new born now I use both 4runners for school runs for my elder kid and groceries. Haven't hit the trails for a loooong time. :(:(:(

True, no trail camera one less thing to go wrong. One of the reasons I didn't have a front camera on headunit on my 2021 Pro. I got a wireless backup camera system from Amazon to be used as the front camera. Its a small screen but able to manage.

I just picked up my Off-Road Premium about 6 weeks ago without MTM. I actually didn't see any coming into my dealership with MTM.

In my area, you couldn't find an ORP with the MTM but this was in '22.
Like kmeeg I just got a wireless camera for the front.

I purchased a MY 22' TRD ORP, no MTM. I'm probably going to get the Anytime Front/Rear Camera. Eventually...:notsure:

Perhaps it is a regional thing? Only way to get a TRD Off Road here in Alberta, Canada is a premium with MTM and KDSS.

Picked up my 23 ORP 2 weeks ago without MTM. With inventory so slim, Id take the first one I could find with or without, unless its really that big of deal to you. Then its a waiting game.

It's a Canadian thing. Same here in Ontario my '22 ORP was the same way. It's not like I had much choice on colour or options considering the limited available stock. Dealer said I was lucky to get the one they ordered in. It was the same everywhere I looked. Blamed it on Covid. Not sure if that's the way the dealers order them in or that's all Toyota will send to Canadian dealers since we're a much smaller market. But there are some interesting differences between US and Canadian models. Big ones being factory remote start on an ORP, dual climate control standard and impossible to find an ORP without a moon roof. From what I've seen US markets vary considerably from region to region. Not so much in Canada.

In the US it's a regional deal. In the Southeast region (FL, GA, SC, NC, AL) the Toyota 'build' page wouldn't let me build an ORP with KDSS and MTM. In some other regions I could (by changing "my" zip code on the build page). I'd suggest trying the build page and see if you can configure how you want in your zip code.

Thats the thing, Toyota doesnt work like Ford. You can walk in to Ford and order exactly what you want, they submit the order, it goes into the queue and gets built the way it was ordered. With Toyota, they built what they build and whoever's got the next allocation in the queue gets what was built. Dealer has no say in it. The person who got the ORP that came in after mine put a deposit down 4 months before me...he wanted silver or army green, I was willing to take whatever color became available first (I was 4th on the list but everyone ahead of me had more specific requirements so I jumped them and "only" waited 2.5 months...).

The dealer I bought from is sent 2wd models occasionally, they don't want them so they trade them to a dealer down south.
