TSS disconnect

Sorry if this has been covered in another thread but I didn’t find any in a search. I do not care for the TSS. I have a 2021 TRD OR and purchased the C4 bumper with the low bull bar that will block my TSS sensor. Can I just disconnect it and have no issues?

 

You can disconnect it, and the 4Runner will drive just fine. However, your dash will constantly remind you that TSS is not working. It also notifies the dealership. I had mine disconnected for a few months while working on my custom grille. I got a few calls from the dealership saying I should bring it in to get serviced because the TSS wasn't working.

 

C4 also makes a TSS sensor relocation bracket/kit. I don’t know if it is compatible with your particular C4 bumper, so you might want to ask them before ordering. I know this isn’t the same as deleting the TSS, but in the absence of a way to do that it may be your best option.

 

I’ve been wondering about this TSS relocation kit from C4 myself for this exact reason. Been thinking about the C4 low profile bumper and would like to add the bull bar, but not the high rise bar. I saw the relocation kit and although it seems like the solution for the low rise bar, I haven’t read anywhere about how effective it is, or isn’t.
