2 Car Seats

I currently have a 2008 runner and am thinking of upgrading to a 23. We will be putting 2 rear facing car seats in the back. My husband is a tall guy and has to have the driver seat all the way back so it touches the middle car seat. That’s a decent sized ‘no’ for car seat safety as the car seat not only absorbs the force of impact from an accident but also the force of the front seat. Anyone else been in this situation? Suggestions to accommodate the 2 seats in the 2008 or should I just suck it up and get the 23?

 

I don't know that a 23 won't have a similar issue. Tell your husband he needs to get shorter?

 

That’s what I told him haha! We need just about an inch more room. Do you think the 23 is bigger? I was under the impression there was a bit of an increase in cu ft in the newer models. I’m going to look at one tomorrow. I’ll take some measurements.

 

Im 6'4 and have three kids, a 23' will be same problem different car. Rear facing seats are horrible, just give it time they will soon be out of them.

And no, I dont allow a car seat behind me. There just isnt enough room.

 

Bring a car seat, salesmen don’t mind you checking stuff like this.
