Lifting at 150k miles, replace anything else?

I posted this in the suspension forum the other day, but the subforums are pretty dead.

I have a lift that I bought in the winter that I'm getting ready to install soon. Eibach 2.0 coilovers with rear reservoir shocks. Can't wait to finally install it! Keeping it set at 2.0 inches front, 1 in rear. Sticking with the stock control arms.

My 2013 has about 150k on it, and in the time I've owned it I haven't replaced any steering or suspension components.

Is there anything I should replace while I'm in there, or just wait till things start to wear out and replace them accordingly? At the very minimum I was thinking I would replace the sway bar links, as I have to disconnect them anyway to install the lift.

Front end seems tight with no squeaks or clunks, though I do get the tire shimmy occasionally.

    Thanks!

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Maybe just give things a good looksee, but I personally would probably avoid fixing what aint broke for the time being.

Mentally however, it would be good to view this install as a two step process. The first being the actual suspension install. The second step is checking it in a few months time and being prepared change out things that have revealed themselves to be a problem.

But, it’s not a waste of time if you want to go through all the wear items all at once while you’re there the first time. It’s just that it’s a lot of work lol

By the way, you mentioned removal of the sway bar end links... I used crickeymike's method on this video. Only requires you swing the lower control arm out of the way. If you are just doing coil-overs in the front, it's a very quick and easy way to get them installed without removing a bunch of stuff. The video shows a 2wd 4runner, so you'll have the CV axle in the way, but you can still remove and install the coilover with no problems https://youtu.be/CmjVHhuT1vU

It's probably worth just checking everything out, like @McSpazatron mentioned. Get it in the air and see if there's any play in the ball joints, tie rods, etc. If everything is solid, , you're all set!

Sounds good, makes sense. It's one of those things like I feel like while I'm in there I might as well replace everything, but you're right that'll be a lot of work, and all that stuff will add up quick. No sense in changing parts that I can get more miles out of. Ideally I'll only do them once, I don't want to do them early and then have to replace them yet again down the line on my way to 300k.

Thanks for the reminding me about the video. I'd seen that a while back, was planning on using that method but didn't recall the specifics of whether the links had to be disconnected or not. I believe they do in the back though, correct?

My biggest fear is that the LCA cam bolts are frozen and I'll have to cut them out in order to get it aligned. I kind of wish I had just pulled the trigger on the SuperPro LCAs while they were 25% off last month.

I didn’t remove my links when installing the rear shocks either.

You could try to remove the LCA cams and lube them while you’re there. Hopefully you have no problems taking them out. I wish I had done that when I installed mine.
