Does the SR5 V6 have a full time 4WD system like the V8 or is it like the 5th Gen SR5? Thanks!

For the 4th gen, I believe only the V8 came with the AWD/Full-time 4WD option.

Thanks. I read online that the V6 also had the torsen center diff so it's confusing. My niece has a 2003 SR5 V6 4WD and I was thinking of giving her my 2022 ORP since her 4R was getting kinda old but if 2003 has the center diff, it might be a downgrade and kind of a pain for her to shift in and out of 4WD on the '22.

Wonder why Toyota got rid of the center diff (except for the Limited) in the 5th gen?

IMO 4th GEN V6 have a better 4WD system than the V8. It has 2WD, in addition to 4WD with Center diff. So when its dry you can run on 2WD. In wet/snow you can be in 4H with center diff free.

I won't disagree with this. Only problem is that both the V6 and V8 transfer cases used and still use solenoid shifters instead of a manual shifter. That leads to so many issues that I don't need to go into here. It's the reason I swapped to a FJ transfer case in my 03 V8.
