My new ORP has a sticker on the overhead console stating “data transmission is on”. It also says the sticker is only to be removed by the owner. Anyone know how to turn off data transmission? I don’t want any reminders and I don’t want info being transmitted about what I’m doing or where I am? It says to press the SOS button to disable? I’m not really comfortable doing that. Seems like a 911 type action. Anyone ever done that? 6F92F7A9-8B1B-4C67-AFC5-AD222A7F548F.jpg

I searched this site and saw Captain Spalding’s detailed thread on the subject. I’ll press the SOS button and inform the person who answers I don’t want any data transmission. From reading that thread, I should not lose the microphone.

That's it. Just follow that thread. It's full of good information. I pressed the SOS button and the person said that I needed to call AT&T in order to request them to disable the eSIM card in the truck. You can read the palava I went through in Spalding's thread. Good luck!

I thought others said the agent disabled it over the phone w/o having to call anyone else? Am I wrong?

    I’d call the number.

Pretty sure something needs to be shut off by the cellular company before “Toyota” shuts transmission off on their own end (if I remember correctly from that other thread).

As Spaulding said, push the SOS button and speak to an agent. Tell them what you want to do and they'll guide you through the process. I needed to call AT&T and then afterwards use the SOS button again to speak to Toyota. Others may not have had to call AT&T. You'll find out. Read Spaulding's thread, it's very informative. Good luck!
