I just ordered an Anderson Engineering Manifold spacer for both my '21 Tacoma and my '17 4Runner (damn discount codes!!).
I've heard good things about them. Has anyone on here put one on their Tacoma, and if so, how do you like it?
    Build thread coming soon.

I remember these from TW when I had a second gen. I don’t think there were any measurable gains.

    this is what I suspected….

A guy did a test about 10 years ago on a 1.8t big turbo Audi. 400AWHP at 23psi on @93 using a 3076 (ok, so it was more like 370awhp). Before and after of a similar spacer had a net of 2awhp (which could have been a change in ambient in the shop for all anyone knows).

there is a value in isolating heat, but with the plastic intake I feel this may been ineffective vs an aluminum application where heat soak is more of an issue.

OP is going to be disappointed. These scams have been around since the late 80's when FI came out. TB spacers, manifold spacers, all promising to provide more "tumble" "turbulence" and "mixture" into the combustion chamber. Or worse, "adding torque" by lengthening the intake tract by 1/2" or 1". Every engine dyno test I've seen - including many on Engine Masters - shows not only no gain, but typically a few HP and TQ loss.

Thanks for the heads up. I remember the late '80s too, but I think that I'll install it on my 'Runner and be the judge. If I'm disappointed, then it's my money that was wasted. I'll soon find out and let you know.

There won't be any drama. The only thing I expect from this spacer is for the curve to start lower in the powerband as advertised. 8 lbs. of torque is not enough of an increase to write home about.

I do hope you are happy and it sounds like you have your expectations set right. It's just that some people fall for these marketing traps and expect the world, and I hate to see that happen. Please report back with how the installation went and your thoughts. :headbang:

I've had one on mine since June. It does what it's supposed to do by lowering the torque curve by 1000rpm. You definitely tell a difference. I drove it to Texas from Kentucky in July, and I noticed that my fuel mileage increased too.
I liked it so much that I bought one for my '21 Tacoma also, with the same end results.
    I highly recommend it.

I'm sorry but lowers the curve by 1000rpm? To much zeros?

Bull fucking shit. Excuse my French.

I think the best ‘torque’ band on our cars is between 3000-4000 rpm. If this device can lower the torque band to 2000-3000 rpm, that sounds good to me.
    aka, low end torque.

    Ok. Won't argue.
If you think it's Bullshit, then don't buy it. I know it for a fact.

Have you ever changed a camshaft in a car. It's possible to move the powerband and not hurt the engine.

    Trust me, it is.

An easy way to solve this mystery is a dyno.
