    Hi I'm a new member
I bought a 2002 4runner sr5 V6 from a co worker.he told me about a grinding noise coming from the cooling fan and on the way home a belt snapped I ended up buying a timing kit thinking it was the water pump put it all in fired it up and still had the same issue I noticed a wobble in the pulley and fan I think it could be maybe the fan clutch what do you guys possibly think I'll upload a video thanks

With the engine off, spin the fan by hand, it should feel stiff but smooth. There is a bearing in the part called the fan stay. Its that bracket on the front with the studs for the fan. I would be suspicious of that, they go bad often. Never seen one snap a belt though...

Just to be clear, to feel the bad bearing in the fan stay you will need to spin it with the drive belts off. To feel bad clutch, spin fan with belts on.

Is there a reason you have the radiator cap removed?
