Someone is parting out a 2008 4runner that has some sweet aftermarket bumpers. My Runner is 2003. The after market bumper manufacturers sell them 2003-05 and 06-09. What is the difference?

I believe the differences are in the grille and headlight areas. Frame and attachment points should otherwise be identical.

The aftermarket bumper from that 2008 should fit your 2003 just fine. At the worst, you might need to do some minor trimming or will end up with some slightly larger gaps. Shouldn't be a big deal tho.

@CarsonChris this is mostly correct. Mount points are the same, grille and small trim piece under the headlights change. The other thing he didnt mention is your fog assemblies, they might be the single fog lamp version or the version with fogs and turn signals down there. I forget which is which but something else to double check

All I get is this little box?!
Grill and headlights. Yours will fit it might just have a gap at the bottom of grill and under headlights. Good opportunity to do the facelift (post 06 grill and headlights) at the same time.

Yeah, forgot about those. Should be a combo fog/turn/DTRL. Not too big of a deal to swap to a different lights installed in the bumper.
