Yes, just don't use it. lol

    jk

I have the same, factory highway spare and off road tires of the same size on the 4runner. Not an issue since they are the same size, even if they were a little different its fine (Ever see a car doughnut?). Though if you have a flat off road the spare wont be giving much traction, but its better than nothing.

How you answer the question depends on how you are using your rig. If your all season spare is the same size as your all terrains on the ground, you can certainly use the spare if needed. It will work fine. The issue that most will state is if you are off road and have a flat, it would be best to have another matching all terrain tire as it would be more durable for that use than the all season spare. For light off road, your spare will probably be fine, just not optimal and if heavy off roading, not the best option.

I currently still have the OEM Dunlops (all season) on my rig both on the ground and for a spare. In the next couple of months, I am upgrading to all terrains and will include the spare in the upgrade.

Unfortunately, Toyota does not include an all-terrain spare when you get a factory (or port) option for all terrains - makes no sense to me but I guess it keeps the cost down some...

    Cheers,
    Bob

The Terra Grappler should fit fine in the spare location…. Assuming it’s a 265-70-17…

    Cheers,

I'm confused. You should have matching 5 all season tires.

im sorry - you are correct - it came with all season tires, the dealer installed the all terrain tires for me but they did not swap out the spare. They took really good care of me and we never talked about the spare so i wont trouble them about it

You should have no issues mounting the same tire on factory spare.

This is normal for TRD Pros when their wheels tires get changed after they come to USA along with many other parts. They cheap out and don't change the spare tire. TRD Pro owners have to buy matching tire for the spare.

    Edit -
here's my non matching spare :p
