Part of exhaust assembly rusted off. I noticed tailpipe was tilted so looked under truck to find this. Flange is rusted too. But what is this pipe called in this section of exhaust? It’s before the cat. It’s v8 2006 4runner. It says exhaust pipe assy tail. That the same as the resonator?

Lots with more in the works
That's the section coming off the muffler from what I can tell in your pics. "Exhaust pipe assy center" in the diagram.

I highly recommend ditching the stock exhaust, especially since it's so rusted out in areas and replace the cat-back with one of these Bold Performance cat-back systems that is stainless steel.

Looks better, sounds better and more resistant to the rust issue. And $500 shipped. You will probably pay around that for the stock replacement muffler assembly.

Took your two cents as I looked at whole exhaust assembly and it’s rusting. Bought in for a cat back single exhaust, aluminum. Gibson brand.
