    Old wheels - OEM TRD on a '20 SR5P:

    17x7"
    4.5" backspacing
    +4mm offset

    New wheels:

    17x8
    4.5" backspacing
    0mm offset

Due solely to the 1" increased width, same BS, and nearly identical offset, the new wheels should be about 1/2" more outboard (and inboard) - is that right? Or, does the same BS mean the extra 1" in width is all outboard?

Old wheels are not 4.5" backspacing, more like 4.15".

Centerline of the new wheel (and tire) will be positioned 4mm (or 0.15") outboard compared to the old. If you are keeping the same tire, the tire will have 4mm more poke.

Appreciate it man. I'd swear the new wheel/tire combo sits a noticeable bit more outboard, but there's no way 1/8" would be visible. Weird.

Hey thanks for that - really cool. Edit: asked a Q about backspace but figured it out. So it looks like the outside of the wheel will be about 17mm further out.
