I've been getting interested in Tequila lately. I've been trying the different types, and have found a few I like. As different as they are, I enjoy both Blanco and Anejo. And, I'd like to try some joven.

Any recommendations for a decent sipping Tequila that is reasonably priced? For reference, I drink a lot of scotch in the $40-50/ bottle range, and consider this reasonable for quality booze.

These are kind of my go to’s when i am not splurging. I like them both, and a little more affordable.

Awesome! I appreciate it. The guy at my local liquor store actually recommended Casamigos, but I already had made my purchase. I'll try that next.

I tried some Don Julio Blanco, and I thought it was pretty decent. I had some mijenta while I was in Florida and I thought it was pretty good as well.

Lager. Turned out great and refreshing.

I’ve brewed an amber, gold, Pilsner, and now a lager.

El Mayor Anejo or Maestro Dobel Diamante Reposado. I drink a fair amount of bourbon and rye neat/1 rock and either of these will work too. Its not Spring Break and you're not paying an extra $75 for pretty bottles

I have not seen those anywhere I shop, but will keep an eye out. I like trying some new stuff now and then.

We got invited to a real boogie tequila tasting at a liquor shop. They had 6 there to try, including a mezcal which I wasnt a fan of, and those were our 2 favorites. My biggest take aways were any mass marketed and pumped out for America tequila is bad, but small Mexican distilleries turn out some pretty good stuff

I visited a good friend today, who works in the liquor industry. We started talking about Tequila, and he gave me a sample of some Don Julio Ultima Reserva. Delicious! Too bad I'll probably never be able to afford a bottle of it.

As far as tequilas go, I'm a fan of Don Julio but I probably still get cheap stuff. Not a super fan of tequila but like Julio (white/clear) because I think it has a peppery taste.

Just finished off some Laphroaig. Like the smokey taste. Also have a bottle of nick Offerman edition lagavulin that I don't want to crack but is also smokey and delicious

That is darn tasty, but like you i can not afford it. I do dabble in several other cheaper bottles that are good, just not as good. Most the bottles i try to stay $60.00 or under.

Nice! Like others, had some Guiness (aka - the breakfast of champions on premier league days in the US). Having a night cap also with some bushmills black bush to celebrate the expulsion of snakes from the emerald isle

@FN2187 Oh man I miss being able to go watch PL games at 0600 with a bunch of other idiots drinking like its midday on a lake. Who's your squad?

I'm a liverpool fan since Michael Owen used to play for them over 20 years ago (he used to be my soccer hero).

Yeah, I miss the old days of watching games and wasting the entire day because they start so early over here. I usually just record the games now, try to stay away from the results, and watch them after everyone else has gone to bed these days

Edit: @HuskerRunner - who are ya?

You could do worse than the spurs. At least you didn't jump on a man band wagon (united or city, take your pick)

Used to have a roommate who was a jets fan - don't think they were doing that great when we lived together but he was a diehard fan and I can respect that. I never really got into american football - I grew up in the south where football was king but I played soccer (booooo) and our state didn't even have a team. Household liked college football because apparently that was the more "pure" game before money got involved and ruined things (pro football).

Interesting dynamic from that point of view - I look at superstar soccer players with admiration (unless they take dives or bite people like suarez)

Man, I don't know. 5-6 years ago I would've been over the moon to get him. Now I think sure he's an improvement over what we have, but he better stay happy or we'll blow all kinds of cap space for a prima donna and still suck

I had a wee bit of this over some ice with a splash of water. Just enough to enjoy and relax towards the days end.
