Am looking to replace the factory tires on my 2017 Off Road to a little more aggressive tread. I do not want to change tire size and I do not want hard core off road tires and don't feel I need Load range E. Just something better than the Bridgestone Duelers. And because of past experiences, Good Year is not an option for me.

These are what I have considered so far: Toyo Open Country SL load range, Cooper Discoverer AT/3, BF Goodrich TA KO/2 (might be a little more aggressive than I want) and the Goodrich has no tread warranty while the other two do. The other two are also less expensive, however cost is not as important as getting what works for me.

    Thanks.

My advice is to go with the BFG KO/2's. I just put a set on my 2017 TRD OFP. I had a set on my lifted and modified 2dr Explorer and were great. No regrets. Great tires. I keep the same size to so I would know my spare would fit. I've only had my 4 runner a month and still getting to know the vehicle and thinking up mods I want to do.

Cooper Discoverer AT/3's are a good choice. I had those on a previous SUV and they were great. Another option besides the KO2's if you want something more agressive is the Falken Wildpeaks. I've had them for 20,000 miles on my 4Runner and I've been more than pleased with them. They also have a 55,000 mile tread warranty.

:canada:Our new '16 4R came with Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs, and they have done well over a rather snowy/icy winter. But if I had my druthers, I would have chosen Toyo Open Country. Had 2 sets on previous 4x4s and each lasted over 50,000 miles without a problem. - Cheers, Ted.

I've got BFG KO2s on my Tundra. About to put some on the 4Runner.

Any opinions on Nitto Grappler series? I see them a lot of the time. I know they have a less aggressive Terra Grappler. I am personally looking at the new Ridge Grapplers which is a more aggressive AT.

Hw about Yokohama Geolandar A/TGO15? Tread looks about like I want, they have a tread life warranty, and the price is really great with an instant rebate and a mail-in rebate.

    Thanks for the replies.

I have KO2's on my 4runner and I like them a lot. With that said, I will consider Cooper AT3's or some or brand when times comes for replacement. I have no complaints with the KO's, I just like to try different tires.

I'm currently using Nitto G2 Grapplers and i must say that i really love them, Very tough and highly durable.. I've had them for about 8 months now and i can still see the little "hairs" the side of them and also the blue and green line just a little bit so i definitely can tell the wear on them is insanely great the warranty is amazing if ever need btw

I looked at those just before I replaced my tires. They we're leading the way because like you I wasn't crazy about a super aggressive tire and everything that came with or without it. I decided if I was going to go with an A/T I was going to get an A/T tread pattern. Not a "hybrid" or sorts which is what I consider the G015. I settled with the Wildpeak AT3W that Pablo suggested. 55k warranty, true A/T tread pattern, and good price. I have the KO2s on my work truck and I like them just fine. I like the KO2s better than I did the Goodyear MT/Rs I had previously or Duratracs some of my co-workers have. Another good thing is they came in a standard load for a stock size. To sum it up for me ---> 55k Warranty, Awesome Price, Good Tread, P-Rated Tire.
