I definitely have a bit of OCD, I notice a slight difference from left to right on the viper cut I just did.

Just posting here to see if the average person can notice a difference? If not I will save my hairline and leave it be!

edit: the lighting is way worse on the left side of my garage so the shadows make it appear worse than it is up close

update: OCD won, I went back and trimmed the left side to match the right. Hopefully it’s not worse :/

I say you did good. Looks close enough that not many people would notice a difference. If someone gets that nit picky, screw ‘em. If your happy with it , that’s all that matters. Looks great!
Not many have the balls to even try it!

My honest opinion being an ocd dude myself is yes can see it a bit; more sharp on the drivers side to my eye. However had you not pointed this out I am not sure I would notice.

I am the same guy who looked at my Acura door at midnight for a door ding and turned it in different sunlight angles in day and have myself a sick stomach over it. I found it finally with a bumpless paint guy with fluorescent lighting amd he took it out. It was super subtle.

My advice is sleep on it a day or two and have a beer. As much as it sucks not with driving yourself crazy

Thanks for the replies! Not sure how to reply directly to anything on this yet. I think if it is still bothering me by Sunday I will tape up the left side and sand away a little at a time till its where I wan’t it!

Good deal. I get the ocd. Sometimes we just have to put it in perspective and count the blessings we have.

Looks great. Congratulate yourself on a job well done and move on to the next task on your list!

I’d f&ck with you and say it looks horrible, but I have ocd too. Seriously it’s fine. Go back to re-aligning your bookshelf. That’s what I’d do.

And think about what would happen when we screw up the other side trying to fix it. You’ll then have to fix the other other side, etc until you just get a full width steel bumper.

well I ended up trimming it to match! However I waited till today after taking a break from it. That way I could confirm it still bothered me and not want to rush it and ruin it.

side note though, maybe this is what I need to do to convince me to drop money on a bumper!

So, since no one else could tell, how much different was one side from the other? (I'd have done the same thing you did :D)

So the start and finish points were even! I just somehow taped differently, so the middle I cut off about 1/4 inch! But now it measures even, looks even and feels even!

Totally wanted to just leave it but my brain couldn’t handle it.
