    Greetings, all!

I am a longtime lurker but am only posting now because I am seeking guidance on the first of what will likely be several topics.

First, I'd like to thank everyone here and at the other forum for all your ideas. My truck and I love you, but my wallet hates you. ;)

I'd also like to thank the site Admins for figuring out how to allow me to post. VPNs are wonderful, but not perfect.

    So, my question...

I am installing a Pixelman camera at the top of the hatchback in order to a) upgrade the backup camera, and b) accommodate the SSO Hitch-Mounted Tire Carrier I have received but not yet installed.

The camera needs to be connected to a power circuit somewhere. This could be easily solved by tapping into the backup-light wires on either tail light. HOWEVER, I also have an Anytime Backup Camera switch, so I need this camera to be live when the rig is on and NOT in reverse.

Is there a switched or always-on wire running into the driver-side taillight that I can tap into?

I plan to run a full-time-on power lead back there from my secondary battery at some point, but if I can finish this more simply, it will be great.

As for ground, I'll find one. That's easy.

    Thanks! :D

    Welcome.

To answer the question of power, if you want a accessory power just tap into the power for the lights on the inside of your hatch. If you get a meter should be easy enough to find the store for power there. Then the camera will be on whenever your truck is.

Secondly, you have to run a video wire to the front anyways. So just run a power wire also with an add a fuse tap at the fuse box.

    Makes sense.

Since power for the hatch is supplied via the loom protected by the rubber tube and grommet at the top of the hatch, any chance someone knows which wire in that loom would be best?

I'm waiting on my tester, so I have to ask...

    Thanks!

I have the big PDF of the electrical system. Your post reminded me to go look through it. I discovered I am missing something basic...

So when I find whatever connector I wish to use (Let's say VO1 just as an example), where is the table that tells me what the PIN numbers mean in the provided connector diagram?
