Alternate Fog Light 2021 SR5 recs OEM sucks

I have the yellow DD elites on my 4Runner and rav4. I recommend them over the DD sport yellow. The elites are just as bright and have a better cutoff for inclement weather situations. Neither will melt snow in those type of situations if that’s a consideration. Pro and max get warm enough for that though.

I installed DD Pro white fogs after a deer took out my front end. You have to aim them carefully or they will blind oncoming traffic. They are that bright, really.

 

I've had my DD ss3 pro's for a couple of months now and they're pretty awesome. I try not to drive with them on at night but it's hard because without it my headlights don't feel like they're even on. Thankfully I have some Morimoto XB's on their way to replace my headlights this week. Anyway, the light pattern on the SS3's is pretty awesome. It really fills in the ground and the sides of the road. Be sure to point them down or else you'll blind anything in your way. I bet unless you were looking at them side by side you wouldn't be able to tell a difference between the pro and the sports, and based on that video I posted after around 30 minutes they should have around the same light output anyway.

 

This is helpful, sounds like DD or Morimoto max/pro are too bright for my use.

 

As previously mentioned, Do keep in mind that the DD elites and sports won’t melt snow. So if that’s important to you, you’ll need to step up to the pros.

There are trade offs on multiple levels with all of these fog light options. That Tacoma World fog light thread is a tremendous resource.

I doubt you’d be disappointed with any of the Diode Dynamics offerings. They’re all huge upgrades over stock fog lights. You just need to consider pros/cons of each of their offerings relative to each other.

 

Good points, not melting snow could defeat their purpose, but am not planning on a lot of snow driving so may think through this more. More likely to experience heavy fog and rain.

 

Be aware that Headlight Revolution is part of a large conglomerate that includes Morimoto, GTR, and The Retrofit Source. They are anything but truthful.

For OP, the DD SS3 Pros have a more scattered beam pattern than the Sports or Maxes. I have one 4Runner with Pros and one with Maxes. Although the Maxes are brighter, I only get flashed when driving the one with Pros in bad weather. Both are aimed correctly. The old style BD SAE lights suck. They were more like flood lights. Had those before the Pros and they are currently in the ditch light position
