Elka 2.5 DC 3" lift, SPC UCA's, Toytech rear springs, ARB Diff Breather, RSG Rock Sliders & front Skid. C4 front bumper with High Clearance sides and Warn Winch.
I have a 2023 SR5 Premium that I want to upgrade the suspension and do a 3” lift on. I’ve pretty much decided on Elka 2.5 DC Reservoir’s front and rear shock kit. I live in Colorado Springs so I want to set it up to handle both the washboard back roads we have here as well as some overlanding/rock crawling. I am planning on adding a stealth bumper & winch at some point in the near future so I will be adding some weight to the front eventually. I currently have RSG Sliders installed as well as the RSG front skid. I’ll be adding the RSG rear skid with Cat protector soon as well. I do not have plans for a rear bumper at this time. My goal is to get about a 3” lift and level it as well.

I’m debating on either the SPC Adjustable upper control arms or the Ironman Pro Forge UCA’s. Does anyone know if either is better over the other for an Elka set up? Mainly does one have more clearance for the reservoir hose over the other? Also considering I will be going to 33's soon does one make more sense than the other? My thought is the SPC’s will give me the most adjustments flexibility with the lift and the bigger tires.

For the rear springs I’m unsure which ones to go with so I’m totally open to suggestions and advice. I do see quite a few going with springs from Toytec, plus Toytec will likely be doing the install as I live only an hour away.

Lastly I’m unsure if bump stops will be required or not, I haven’t found a lot on this topic.

    Thanks, Jeff

I too had ELKA 2.5DC and the best suspension I've experienced so far.

I would highly suggest you to give a call to Hugo at R4T (303) 909-6047. He is by far the expert I've met in CO for Toyota.

Its funny some folks here will say "you don't need a lift for 33's" LoooooL :p

RSG sliders, every RCI skid didn't need any special spring for me when I got ELKA 2.5DC. I used OME 2in rear springs from my previous lift. But Hugo will tell you what front springs needed with different winch and bumper combo or if you can just use the pre-load to compensate. But he will more likely will ask you if you could do it at the same time or do the winch bumper before the lift. Again not going to waste time.

BTW, the reason I went with ELKA 2.5DC is I wanted "the most comfortable suspension regardless the cost". I even ask Hugo if I can do Fox 3.0s but went with ELKA2.5DC. But based on you offroad needs he might suggest something else as well. Not sure.

I'm familiar with R4T I'll definitely give Hugo a call!

Or since its the first time meeting in person might help a ton to put up a plan and then you do your own research before ordering. I've been working with him for quite a long time with multiple 4Runners so now a chat works for me. Its awesome to see some big Youtubers meet him discussing options.

    Edit-
The reason i said to meet in person been there could be minor parts that might be recommended when doing it right. For example brake line extensions. So you could ask back to back questions what is needed to do it perfect.

I understand and it's a great suggestion. I'll be heading up to Denver soon to visit the guys at RSG again soon so I can swing into R4T when I do.

Just a quick update. I talked with Hugo, great guy, and I'm going to do the Elka's with the SPC's and Toytec rear springs with bump stops. They will also do the body trim on the front bumper so the MT Baja Boss A/T's that I'll be putting on won't rub. Should hopefully have it completed by early April. Wish I could do it sooner but I have a busy couple of weeks coming up so I won't be able to get up to Denver for a bit.
