Hello everyone! - New to this forum and to 4runners.

Does any company out there make rock sliders for a 5th gen Limited without needing modifications (to either the rocker panel, body, or XREAS system (besides maybe a few spacers)?

I really like the idea of rock sliders but want to keep the look as is if possible. Called quite a few of the popular companies and have been unsuccessful. Most require either cutting, removing panels, or does not work with the XREAS suspension.

    Appreciate any help out there!

Having just installed sliders last weekend, I can see why they don't usually work with the rocker trim on a LE. That trim is lower than where the slider extends out from the frame. In order to clear the LE rocker trim, the mounting arms would have to angle downward away from the frame, and it's no wonder slider manufacturers wouldn't want to make them like that, given how few they would probably sell. A slider underneath the LE rocker trim would hang pretty low.

Bottom line: They were expensive to NY, $986.43 shipped. I'm 6'1", so i don't need it as a step. I like the way the sliders look and it will help with some door dings. I am not using for offroading. Shipping weight was @65lbs X 2. The sticker on the rocker comes off easily enough if you don't want it on.
I actually liked Shrockworks more but I saw a video where someone received rusty stick nuts and also saw a posting with a crappy looking skid plate so I didn't order from them. I would buy something else from MT again but I'd wait until i could work underneath the car with my brother-in-law or go to a shop lol. And if you do order from them don't be my BIL, print the freakin' instructions!
I'm returning to work so I'll get better pics tomorrow.

I've had my 2020 Limited 4runner since the night of Jan 03. I ordered these from MetalTech on Feb 25 and they arrived on Mar 04. They said no modifications needed. I had the delivery go to my sisters house in Long Island because i live in an apt in Brooklyn, NY and I didn't want 2 boxes of sliders sitting in the lobby until i got home an found them open.

Ordering - no prob. Delivery - no prob except one box flap was open, checked, all good.
Install became a problem for a few reasons. One of the problems BUT the least important, was Metaltech instructions. They aren't the best if you don't wrench. I never worked on cars but my BIL does a lot of his own work. *He works for a utility company not as a mechanic for his salary. According to him, the clips for the XREAS needed to come out and not go back. There were also 2-3 screws on each side that needed to be removed and reinstalled on the XREAS line. The clips were not reinstalled. The XREAS goes between the brackets and the frame. I could not check because I am wearing a brace on my leg. I told him i'll be back over there in 2-3 weeks on the weekend to go under the car with him to check his work. Our days off will match up by then.

My BIL likes working on cars and he said that it didn't make sense to pay a shop after I gave him a fantastic deal on my old car. Due to hurting my knee the Thursday before my BIL and I were to install on Sunday i knew i would have a problem helping him, so i I was calling my nephew from another sister to come along but he is away. Long story short, another family member volunteered to help out. She's a 25yr old teacher that doesn't know anything about cars but she said she wants to learn so i said ok. SHE was a great help.

ALL the rest of the install problems was due to my BIL. He is a good guy however i discovered he doesn't read the instructions because he's a shade tree mechanic that "knows what he is doing" smh lol. I started using my phone to read the isntructions. Between the kid and I reading, him listening when he wanted too and her helping it was finally, almost completed. Long story not actually short, 1030AM to 445PM install time, AND he forgot a screw on a bracket, to be installed at a later date.

Thanks. No need to drill. The factory holes match up with the holes in the gussets(brackets). If you scroll down on the link above there's an install pdf.

Nice job. I opted to change the rockers on my limited so I can have more options.

So which sliders did you choose? With the trim gone you still have the xreas system in the way don't you? I don't mind ditching the rocker trim, but finding rock sliders that fit around the xreas system is proving difficult so fat for me.

I replaced xreas with kings. I have RSG sliders. If you keep xreas, need to lay the lines over the sliders. But difficult to secure the lines.

Well your setup looks great. Everything I'm learning about the Xreas is they are super expensive to replace, so I'm going to wait till I need new shocks or struts, then yank the Xreas system, and go with traditional coil over. Will ditch the limited rockers and fender trim...front and rear bumper, and go with metal... no more weak plastic. How long do xreas last? Lol

Interesting how you trimmed? Painted the front bumper.

I won't speak for @Daytonaviolet, but if memory serves from his build thread, he replaced the Limited rocker trim with the standard trim used on the other models.

I trimmed front bumper with angle grinder and sanded. Then I added the c4 high clearance additions. For the rockers, I replaced with trd/sr5 rockers.

Is the wiper fluid tank exposed now?

It was, so I also purchased the C4 tank cover and got it powder coated with the rest of the c4 items. Also spray painted exposed parts of the bottle black.
