My vehicle comes with dim OEM white fog lamps.

Caliraised sold me replacement lamps tri-color which won’t work because the 2021 OEM fog light lamp cannot be changed. You have to replace the entire housing. I’ll save my long diatribe on that company because they did not check compatibility when offering their solution. 2 hours wasted and waited 6 weeks (they kept promising it will ship soon, etc) so want my next swing to be the right one. No longer a fan of that company.

Looking for very bright and yellow option. On a budget and seeing minimum $250 or so. Not looking to put yellow film over the existing lights.

Figured this group will be able to post all sorts of options.

I have diode dynamics max on mine. Super bright. Can’t use them at night tho because they’re way too bright. I use them now as DRLs.

I like my Morimoto XB's. Good color, bright without being obnoxiously bright and they have a very defined cut-off.

I have Diode Dynamics Pro’s in amber and they are waaay better than the OEM led fogs. They are SAE approved but are very bright. I highly recommend them. They are a direct, plug and play replacement….

    Cheers,

Is it the brightness you have problems with or bad weather conditions like fog? My factory LED fogs on my 2021 TRD Pro is good enough for me and I'm not scared to use them on road.

I rewired mine. I hated that you had to have the headlights on to have the fog lights on. Now my diode dynamics turn on with a separate switch. Don’t get MAX though. Way too bright. At night it’s easily lighting up 100-200 yards ahead of you. Blinds oncoming cars. I now just use them for DRLs.

Diode Dynamics Pro white fog lights. I aimed them higher to supplement my headlights. The width and throw are amazing.

Any idea of the temp of light? Is it like actual amber or look yellow. Needing this optimal for fog, snow, rain, etc

Just curious is there any proof that white does not work for fog?

Is there any cases aftermarket amber fogs get trouble with cops? since its obvious that the vehicle lighting is modified when you have yellow fogs?

I went with the Diode Dynamics SS3 MAX amber light and they have intense brightness. The light pattern is as wide, or wider, then the distance out front. I have not tried them in fog yet. They are a great driving light at night on dark two lane roads.

Changed the 2014 OEM halogen fog lights this truck came with to 2022 OEM LED sealed units which work great in day or night fog and don't need to be turned off when passing or for oncoming traffic.

What I did too. Which fog did you go with?

    This is what I installed
(screen capture from my video. Haven't had time to do some tests and post the video)

Saw this type of LED fog at the dealership on 2023 Limited.

I swapped mine out for a set of Baja SAE in clear then split the top to yellow and bottom white. Direct plug and play, super easy to install. They make them in all Yellow as well, like the ditch lights below.

Tons of evidence yellow (Not amber) is better than white. Yellow will refract less light back at you and cut through the fog/snow far better than white. Yellow strains the eye less as well.

If possible please share a fog light test video that show yellow vs white fog lights in fog which will help anyone thinking about it.

For me since I had good luck with white fogs in a fog I went with another white fog. :):)
Also make me comfortable running them all the time without worry about cops giving me a hard time. LoL.

Yeah, white is fine. Just not ideal in heavy fog and rain.

Yes its possible share a fog light test video that show yellow vs white fog lights. YouTube search yellow vs white fog light test and you will get thousands of examples, tests and comparisons. lol

Sorry I did not see "test video that show yellow vs white fog lights in fog". Just seems to be just talking. Someone testing fog lights in fog?

Watch the entire video/videos. They show driving off road with Yellow and White. You will see the massive difference. Fog/snow/rain are all particles in the air that reflect white more than yellow.

The talking explains the science behind it and the basic concept

Have you considered walking away from the limitations of the OEM fog light housing?
Yellow headlights (and fog lights) were standard on all French cars for probably half a century until the EU regulations took hold. They are fantastic in fog and drizzle.
Check out these Hella amber fog lamps. This price includes a relay and all the wiring. Wow.

I have the DD Pros in yellow. They’re definitely yellow and not amber. They are too bright for oncoming traffic so you have to consider that into your decision. But they cut extremely well through fog/snow/rain. Much better than white. Night and day difference.

The DD Elite or Sport in selective yellow are better choices if worries about oncoming drivers is a concern. But from the reviews I’ve read, they are still plenty bright.

I love my yellow DD Pros but the DD Elites look like a really good (better?) option for on road use.

yes, yellow does not reflect as well so the light penetrates a lot better.
