I did a search on here, no bueno.. and besides my local dealer who wants way too much for oem oil, where do you folks purchase it? I can't seem to locate any on BAM or any other Toyota dealers sites. So is Amazon the go to? Any other places my search has missed? Just looking to not spend more than necessary...thx folks. I really want to use OEM for warranty purposes. Local guys want $150 for a case of 6.

If your only reason is for warranty it doesn't matter. Just buy what you can at your local auto store.

5280 ft in a mile, thus at 26 cents a foot it amounts to 1,372.80 a mile. And I would think that’s some expensive oil usage.

    Toyota 0W20 case of 6qt cost $51, i.e. $51:6=$8.50. Need ~7qt every 5000 miles, i.e. $8.50x7=~$60 every 5000 miles.
Yearly mileage ~10,000 miles or every six months, two oil changes. I spend every year for oil $60x2=$120. ????????????

I buy it from my dealership. It’s around $7 bucks a quart. OEM filter around $4. I don’t drive much so I only have to change it twice a year.

Mobil 1 0-20 is fine, Walmart has the 12 quart boxes which I really like cuz I just reuse one plastic bottle and can perfectly fill the 6.6qt spec. It has a very convenient spigot and it’s a quality box so I can stack it 3 high. Helps because my Tacoma uses the same. In Hawaii I believe it was 56 per box but if you’re in the mainland I’d assume it’s cheaper.

Online has always been way too expensive for Toyota 0w/20. My local dealer was about $6.80 per quart last time.

They can not void your warranty if you use the correct oil at the specified intervals, even then they would have to prove the oil caused the problem.

Where are you that they are charging $25/quart?

Service rep at a local dealership tells me they use Mobil 1 0W20 bulk for engine oil changes and Mobil 1 75W90 bulk for diffs and transfer case changes. ExxonMobil Japan is in a strategic partnership with Toyota and has been the manufacturing Toyota branded engine and driveline oils including Toyota WS ATF at the Exxon Japan refinery for at least 20 years.

Buy the cheapest brand you can find, it really doesn't matter.

Valvoline Extended Protection. Lots of moly in it. Great alternative to the OEM oil.

Did you click on the link I posted above? By all accounts, genuine Toyota motor oil is in fact Mobil 1 produced by Exxon Mobil, they are one and the same.

I did. I was just answering the previous question. This is very interesting and enlightening to read everyone's comments involving the evolution of the motor oils that are currently available.

I watched his M1 HM vs. Supertech HM and I'm perfectly fine with my Supertech choices in an easy-wearing engine like ours. I use Supertech as the extra quart, and Havoline 0w20 from Walmart in the 6 quart box as the bulk.
