About a month ago I lost the use it the volume knob. When turned there are no hashmarks, to indicate volume, and no volume just silence. I also lost the ability to select on the touchscreen that offers AM,FM, XM and Bluetooth. The unit will connect to my phone via BT, show who I am calling or what music am listening to on BT but no ability for any volume. I can see the progression of the song but again no volume. The navigation system works but no volume. I have disconnected the battery for 4 hours, updated the software and did some other soft reset with no luck. I had the dealership check and do the same, also without success. The dealership tech said some kind of internal fault.

Just a few days ago I got all the functions of the radio back for about a day. Both times I lost control of the radio where in colder climates, in the mountains of SoCal, about 20".

Thoughts on the oem unit and what others have done with an aftermarket install. Thanks a bunch!

Or...if anyone is selling their oem unit lmk. Thanks

My stock unit has been fine, but it’s been about a year since I’ve even turned it on. Guess I should check and see if it still works. The best feature I discovered was being able to turn off the display, that really helps at night.

Do the volume controls work on your steering wheel?

Does it work when it’s really cold or when it’s warmer?

It might just be coincidence but bothe times of failure happened in a cold climate, but did not immediately work once in a warmer climate. It took atleast a week before the unit worked again, which only lasted about 24 hours. So the temperature seems coincidental.
