Got a 2001 T4R SR5 with 307K that I've been using as a run around town vehicle since we got the 2012 T4R. It looks good but it's in tough shape. Has a voltage leak somewhere, water leaks somewhere, oil leaks somewhere, occasional differential leak sometimes, etc. You get the picture. Well the tranny just went out and a replacement tranny isn't really in the cards nor does it seem like a good investment. If I had a big garage I might put the time and energy into it but I think she probably just needs to be put down. My biggest issue is I just put tires on it. Not super-nice tires like a lot of you all have but still $1,000 worth and they have 1,500 miles on them. Ergh. The question is what should I do with it? Sell it as is, donate it, scrap it, part it out? It's got to be worth something to someone, no? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Do you have a local school with an auto repair program? Maybe you can donate it

If not as Old Goat says, provide some additional details and give people on here a little time. You may find someone to help you out. And if you are in ok shape financially, give someone else a break who wants to refurb a truck like this. Fact is, you're not going to make a killing on it anyway. Maybe you can bless someone else.

Put it out there for $1500. I bet it goes for that easily with the blown transmission.

Scrapping it would be dumb. The prices are heading up.

They do actually and that would be an option for donation. Thanks.

I agree and while I don't want to put any more money into it, I feel like it still has value for the right person and I would love to know it was still running around out there.

I think this is probably where I will start. And coincidentally, that is the exact number I had in my head.
