Did it help fix the shimmy?

You said you live in NVA? What store did you go to? I have 285/70/17 KO2s on SCSs that have always shimmed at highway speeds. After my last rotation I started getting a lot of shaking while breaking at any speed. I just got back from the Discount Tire in Fredricksburg. They said all they wheels needed balancing but am still getting shaking while driving and braking. Rotors look even but I guess I will get my breaks checked next to see if that is the issue for the shaking while applying breaks.

265/70/17 KO2 C on TRD Pro rims. Installed by Discount Tire. Balanced on first attempt. No issues for 20,000 miles and 4 rotations without rebalance or realignment.

You need new rotors if this is happening while braking. Might as well replace the pads as well.

That seems to be the consensus during my online searches. Slightly frustrating because I asked the dealership to inspect the breaks at my last service (4,000 miles ago). Ill schedule an appointment to get them inspected this week.

For the shaking at highway speed (not breaking, seperate shake), I found old service records for 40,000 miles ago while still on factory wheels and tires of me reporting shaking at highway speeds. Could be that a the stock wheels went out of balance and my KO2s were out of balance as well or I have a secondary issue that needs to be addressed.

    Good times.

The shaking at highway speed is a tire balance issue.

Follow the steps in the first post for your best chance at fixing it.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
The tire tech at my dealer discovered the Bridgestone factory tire marking on one tire for the light portion was was mis-marked 180 degrees out. He repositioned the tire which eliminated the shimmy.

The Bridgstone Dueler HT's that came OEM on my SR5 were complete garbage tires! They actually retail for over $200 each. I wouldnt take them if they were FREE! I went 2 winters with them and could not stand them. The wet traction ,braking , handling in snow, sleet, rain was awful. I replaced them at 33k with Yokohama Geolander AT tires and been happy ever since.

I was going to go AT tire but when I got the shimmy on the virgin way home from the dealer I decided not changing anything for at least a year and not give the Dealer a way out under warranty.
    Edit:
BTW, IMHO, I think there are more to the shimmy issue than just tires.
