Just curious if anyone has done a complete seat swap for an aftermarket chair?

I have seen the gap brackets people have added to improve the comfort of the chairs.

Specificlly, Im wondering if anyone has swapped in a seat from a GX460 or other vehicle into a 5th Gen Runner?

Really would love some more comfy seats (I'm 6'3") for long road trips. I have hip and back problems, so not claiming the stock ones are abhorrent, just not working for my needs.

Agreed, its a torture chair for me personally. My wife's Highlander seats are extremely supportive and I can drive on them all day. Even 10 minutes just sitting in the 4Runner chair my back is out of whack. Id like to upgrade the 4Runner chair to make it tolerable for me to drive cross country.

Right now, im having to stop every 100 miles to stretch my back and prevent pain from setting in. And that's just highway driving.

I put seat jackers under the front of my seats and it has made a difference for the better. Still, the seat itself could be better.

Once a year, I make a trip that is a ten to twelve hour drive depending on conditions (snow). That trip is what drove me to try the seat jackers. Night and day. Not perfect, but much better.

Those are the ones, supposed to tilt the seat back just a bit. Makes a more comfortable angle I guess.

A wider seat would be nice but keep in mind your limited by the interior dimensions.

I've been thinking that Lexus RX350/450 front seats or even some of the Lexus car seats may work but haven't looked at dimensions. Many Lexus interiors use center consol as arm rest and friends tell me Lexus seats are comfortable for road trips.

Yes, for me the seat angle made all the difference. Kept me from losing what little I have left of my mind! :D

No doubt, I had some Sparco seats installed in my 240SX a long time ago. When I looked into the Aftermarket world I seemed to pull a ton of bucket seats with no adjustment. The Leather seats thing may be an option..

I dont want to hijack but are you guys using seat jackers with the power seats? I was about to get them for my Taco because it only slides, but was hoping the power 4R seats would give me enough adjustment.

Edit for clarity: 2013 Taco seats suck, but I'm buying a 2023 4R this month. I'm not moving seats between vehicles I just saw the suggestions for Seat Jackers in a 4R and was curious if ppl were needing them along with the 8-way power seats.

I installed the seat jackers on my ORP and took them out because the ORP has fully adjustable up/down and back and forth tilt so these were useless. I ended up getting there flat non spaced units so that I could still utalize there moly plate for CCW storage.

You should try a 3rd gen Tacoma seats. The 4runner was way better imo when I switched.
