And at 60,000 Miles you will still be on your first set,

I have been running the BFG KO2 on every 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, that I have had ! my 2000 Tacoma got 76,000 miles on the BFG KO2 before I sold the truck with 192,000 miles on it and they were still good to go I had same tires on it before this set but for the best of me I don't recall how many miles I got from them
The pictures below are are from my for sale ad of what they looked like. With Proper Care they will be worth the money spent.

My $0.02: I don't have a lot of miles on them yet, but I have been enjoying my Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek tires. Low noise and good wet traction.

Mine are looking like they will make 60k for sure. Gives me more time to consider if I wanna jump to 285s. Big commitment! Lol

I hear you on the commitment thing, I’m looking at these as we speak.

I work remotely since the Pandemic. Drive about 8K yearly.
Some ruggedness and mostly safety is my major concern.

I had done 360 on the highway snowstorm, Facing oncoming traffic. Storm started without warning interstate. Pray i don't experience it ever.

No off-roading. I need a tire that can withstand mother nature.

Trimmed my choices to this 3 finally - Toyo T3, Blizzaks or Defenders. 20" Wheels

My next tires will be 255/80R17 and I am looking closely at this tire. Since neither the KM3 or KO2 come in that size, I'm debating between the Toyo Open Country MT's or these new RT's. Not sure which I'll get yet.

You could go with Interco Thornbird's if you want to drown out the stereo on long trips.

I was kind of surprised they are made in the USA. I’m going from Falken MT’s 285/70/17 to these in 285/75/17, they look awesome.

285/75R17 is almost a 34" tire, and pretty wide. I'm assuming a BMC is required? I'm reluctant to do one of those, which is why I like the 255/80R17, which ends up being 33.4". You only lose .4" but nowhere near as much modification.

I did some searching for All terrain tires back in November. I needed snow rated tires due to living in the noertheast and I narrowed it down to 2 tires. The BFG Trail Terrain tires are a new model with a same sidewall as the KO2's . The Yokohama geolanderAT was on sale, so I got them. The Nittos got such bad reviews about wet, snow, traction & braking, they were not considered. (They do excellent on dry roads and off road apparently)

Don’t let the fact that Defenders don’t have the “snowflake” rating dissuade you from buying them. They’re a fantastic winter tire.

Another K02 fan here. Much agree with Post #13 above. When I traded in my 10' FJ Cruiser with 161k, it was in it's third set of K02's. Was able to get 60k out of each of the previous two sets. Never had an issue. And they look good. LOL

Interesting that I find that after 16k miles on my 21' ORP the Factory Dunlop tires seem to be a good all-season radial. But not an AT tire. Next tires will be another set of K02's.

If you want to move up to a 33" tire without needing new wheels and trimming the fender plastic, then it's either Falken Wildpeak AT3W in 255/80-17 or Kenda Klever R/T in 33x10.5-17.

Hmmmm... Silver with the black Pro wheels... You're making me rethink my choice to switch to bronze... That looks great with those tires.

    They look F'n awesome.

Not many in this forum know even in 285/70R17 size there are many tires taller than 33in..:):)

Haha. You, sir, have the heart of a poet.

Tool? Or toy? The 4Runner is both, but how those qualities are apportioned is different for all of us. If one’s choice of tire is based on facilitating driving in certain conditions — tool. If it’s to facilitate a more aggressive look — then toy.

I’m with you, Jedi. The smart play is the Michelin, but it’s just so lacking in charisma that I couldn’t do it.

100% agree! I am sure the Michelin would be perfect for 98% of my mileage, but I have to look at my 4R every day! Curb appeal matters - it applies to cars, houses and women!

LOL. It is amazing how just tires and wheels alone so much change the look of a 4R.

I think that applies to all 4WD vehicles! To include a modest lift!

I always thought lifts were a "bubba" thing to do, since most of them that I saw growing up, or at least noticed, were on rust-bucket trucks, and about 6-10" minimum of lift. I thought they looked dorky. I'm on my 4th Toyota truck now, and this is the first one I've gotten a lift on. I only went with 2", and even that was mainly because I wanted a beefier suspension for carrying more weight. But now that I have it, I find the appearance noticeably improved from stock. I think the key is what you said, "modest".

I would like to avoid a lift to be honest with you, but am intrigued with 33" or 34" skinnies. But, I might be able to get away with it on the Pro & Pro rims. Time will tell - my current Nittos are 21 months old with 34,000 miles. I want to squeeze at least 50,000 out of them before upgrading. Toyo Open Country AT3 are my preference at the moment!

I really dislike the Pro Rack and am interested in the Crestone Sherpa Rack, but I don't feel I really need a rack - so it doesn't make sense to replace it solely for cosmetic reasons. Maybe just go with the sleek bald look in the near future!

Great looking truck you have! The silver wheels compliment the silver truck well! Sometimes less is more! KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid is the way I try to roll. If I lived out west I would definitely be more inclined to add functional mods, but here in Maryland it would be overkill!

First, apologies to Arileighflo, I hope she doesn't mind all the thread hijacking that has been going on (I'm probably the most guilty party).

Thanks for the compliments on "Silvanas".:D If you like the bald look, this is how she currently sits today...

...I have removed the Victory 4x4 roof rack, and one of these days I'll get around to writing a review on everything I hated about it. Long story short, it has MANY design flaws, and I should have gone with the Sherpa Crestone from the beginning. I have a Crestone on order as we speak. I really prefer the look of the truck when it has the rack on it, and I have to say, no matter where you live, a rack is just plain nice to have. Super useful regardless of whether you have a bunch of zombie apocalypse stuff on it, or just use it to strap down a kayak or Christmas tree. Some expensive things are worth doing for the sake of appearance alone, but I don't think I could ever regret having a roof rack. They are just plain useful.

As for the wheels, for OEM, I think they are very nice. But I've made up my mind I'll be replacing them with either bronze or black. I want to do more to make my truck "mine", and live a little with it. I've never customized any of my trucks before, and this is now pretty much my only hobby. Besides, as much as I like these OEM wheels, I'd like bronze or black even better.

Lastly, you don't need a lift for 33's. As many folks here have explained to me, any lift 3" or shorter does absolutely nothing as far as fitting larger/ taller tires. And I've had 33's on both of my previous (no-lift) Tacos, and will be getting them on this as well. I'm going to do 255/80R17 from here on out. So no more excuses, go buy your skinny tires!!! :D

Lol No worries, I made a decision on my new tires. I want a more beefy aggressive look, so I am going to go with the Ridge Grapplers

Those look great! Are those the 285/75? Let’s keep the slight threadjack going, could you post that front view picture angle with the sun on it so we can see the width proportion a bit better?
