Hey all, I searched around the forum and there are lots of 'lift' threads, and off road threads for suspension, but I didn't see much on keeping things stock? I have a 2000 Limited and I've been loving it for the past few months. It is a bit thumpy on the road/bumps. I don't have much roll in the corners, so I'm thinking just shocks? I daily it for work and want to keep it stock. Any recommendations on shocks? Or anything else to change while I'm up under there?

Welcome. In my research for a leveling kit. If you want to keep stock set up, I've learned just keep the stock springs and just get upgraded shocks. Mostly the lift comes from the spring height or the spacers added to the shocks of you want a body lift. Even most of the adjustable shocks I've come across have a stock height setting.

Any have a recommendation for new shocks? Rockauto has some very cheap looking options and then some Bilstein ones that jump up in price.

Bilstein is a very common shock across all automotive platforms and considered good quality.

My recommendation would be decide exactly what quality you want and research from there. And you get what you pay for. Shocks like Rancho, etc are less expensive but not known to last as long. Bilstein and Eibach have multi vehicle platforms and basically are not specialized for a certain type of truck, but better than stock.

Popular choice for good reason on toyota is the Bilstein 5100s.

Tokico's came stock, why not get those?

They're comfortable shocks for on-road use.

I replaced my 20 year old OEM shocks with OEM shocks. Still rides like the day I bought her new in 2002. They will probably outlive me.

KYB Gas-a-just is the closest to stock you can get without buying OEM.
