Liftgate 2000

Long story short, is the liftgate key cylinder in a 2000 4Runner capable of locking the liftgate or is it only used to move the window up and down?

 

Of course, I mean..you could've answered this yourself with your vehicle.

 

Yes. Just twist the key all the way to one side or the other, but immediately return to the center position otherwise you'll have the window start rolling up or down.
