Why do those of us who prefer more sidewall half to suffer?

    255/85/16 doesn’t come in AT… There’s no skinny 35” like there is a 35x10.5r17.

    I don’t want an MT and I don’t want 17’s.

Yeah, seems shitty on the manufacturers'part. I see Tacoma guys switching to 17's and can't figure out why they shouldn't have good options for 16's.

Truly makes no sense. But oh they’ll make plenty of MTs in rubber band sizes! That should just not even be allowed.

My 2006 Tundra came with 17s. I swapped them out with 16s for more sidewall as mentioned. The biggest challenge was finding a wheel that would clear brake calipers.

Seriously! I suppose the fact that most trucks come with 17" or bigger wheels doesn't help. But, manufacturer making MT's for 24" wheels is just lame. I guess they just go wherever the money is.

I was recently saying that I wish I could fit 16's on the 4Runner, and then a few guys said that tire selection was too limited for 16's. What tires did you get?

That was 16 years ago. If I recall, I initially went with 33" Nitto Terra Grapplers in load D. Wheels were Wheeler's revolvers in black anodized aluminum. After that, I think I had a Set of Revos and then some Firestone ATs. I don't recall having a problem finding 16" tires for that truck.

You could barely slip a piece of paper between the calipers and the wheel.

I really miss that truck. Wish I still had it. it was cherry with 96k on the odometer when I traded it I 2016. 4.7 was just getting broken in. Never should have parted with that one.

I had the 4.7 in my '03 4Runner. Sometimes I really miss that engine! 257K, ran perfect.

I traded in my 03 4Runner with the 4.7 for that 06 Tundra with the same motor. I miss it all the time.

That torque! The 1GR has decent torque, but the 2UZ was just a beast!

It’s about sales volume. Manufactures are not going to waste resources on low volume products.

Did you also read this ^^ before you replied?

I understand the business aspect of it. It doesn't make it any less shitty.
