    Hi all,

New to this forum. Pretty stressed on my vibration issues with a new rough country 3" lift installed on my 2000 4runner SR5 4WD. Experiencing front end vibration after reaching >90km/hr and on my current cv boots, I have noticed a little grease spray but the joint are still intact. Its parked and stored for now but i'm curious if a TRAKMOTIVE extended travel extreme articulation CV Axle will fix my problems. I don't want to do a diff drop due to my skid plate. Any information or recommendations are highly appreciated. Thank you all and nice to join to forum.

    Cheers!

    Diff drops are useless.

Rough Country lift is absolutely the bottom of the barrel as far as quality goes.

3" of lift is way too much for an IFS vehicle.

This is why you're having issues.

so would an articulated cv joint replacement help with this issue or am I straight out of luck?

    Step 1, lower your lift.

I'm unfamiliar with the way lift is obtained using a Rough Country kit. I assume it's a spacer or some sort of puck on the front coilover?

Does the rear also use some sort of spacer?

You'll want to get rid of those.

I was told they wouldn’t be an issue with my 2000 SR5. I guess the salesman doesn’t care.
They are shocks and springs https://www.tdotperformance.ca/roug...ear-3-suspension-lift-kit-with-n3-shocks.html

I had a friend that did a 2.5” lift on his 20014runner and has had zero issues. I was concerned that lift emphasized a possible other issue. Strange stuff.

I appreciate the replies. Thank you! Guess I got to go shopping again for a different suspension.

I have a 3" rough country lift on my 98 and no issues whatsoever. People bash rough country but to me a spacer lift is a spacer is a spacer lift. It's a block of aluminum. It's hard to screw that up so why pay more than you need to? Is the lift newly installed or did this problem just start all of the sudden?

Started immediately after the lift which is only a month on it. I had the same winters on pre lift with no vibration when reaching >90km/hr. I have noted some minor grease spray from my cv joint. I was hoping to replace with articulated ones made for up to 3” lifts from rock auto. (47 degree range instead of the normal 23 degree) now that I have to likely replace the boots….. but I have had zero of usual symptoms of bad cvs, only vibration at a certain speed.

I'm assuming you had it aligned after the lift?

I've had several lifted IFS toyotas and have never had a bad CV cause vibration. I would jack the front end up and check ball joints and wheel bearings. Maybe a u joint issue that magnified by the lift?

If you go into 4x4 does the issue go away?

    If so, needle bearing.

I bought the fancy rough country lift 3" have no spacers lift struts in front as well as tubular control arms the best gain in the front was using rear sway bar end links in the front and gen 2 front end links in the rear along with 3" lift springs in the back with hiem joint trailing arms no issues I would run the 3" lift
