Awesome! I was telling my folks that my dog and I may live out of our 4Runner for a year or two to do some exploring. She said, “Oh no, I don’t want to think of you being homeless “. I said, “It’s only called homeless if you have a crappy car, if you have a nice vehicle it’s called overlanding.” :D

Headed to the mountains last night for some customary New Year's Eve sledding fun, we brought our own lighting solution.

Finally got new tires a few months ago, Toyo Open Country AT IIIs. Stock size and the p-series version, so far so good. Smooth, quiet, grippy, and etc.

For several years, I was invited to a sledding/fireworks/bonfire in the pass out of town. One biologist was licensed to blow up beaver dams; two brewed their own beer; one made wine; several minor injuries each year. Homemade sleds, homemade fireworks, homebrew just didn't seem like a wise celebration. Discretion won out and we stayed home (we are in our 70s)

Went skiing at Arizona Snowbowl. A lot of snow and a few cars got stuck. My first time with the 4R in the snow and it handled really well. Did not struggle even a little bit. Went on the side of the road and couldn’t get stuck unless I put it in 2WD.

also had some fun drifting in 2WD in an empty parking lot at the end of the day

I heard a youtuber recently who kept referring to it as, "Flag". I'd never heard anyone shorten Flagstaff. Is that a pretty common way to call the town? When I moved here to Colorado Springs, my daughter immediately informed me that nobody who lives here calls it that, the locals simply call it, "The Springs". My youngest daughter lives in Albuquerque. Now that's a town that could use a shorter name. :D

Welcome to the forum! Driving up Pikes Peak is one of my favorite ways to spend a morning. The donuts at the top are not half bad either. :D

When I moved to Utah I had a couple of the locals tell me to not tell others about it. There were enough people here already. I say come on. A lot of beautiful scenery in the west. I hope to get to Canada in the future.

Jedi5150, I live in Silver City, NM area. That’s about 225 miles south of Albuquerque and right above the Mexican border. It’s a small town where as Albuquerque is a big city and getting bigger.

"Luck don't live out here. Wolves don't kill the unlucky deer; they kill the weak ones..." Jeremy Renner in Wind River

Hmmmmmmm......... That goes against Heisenberg's Principle, Murphy's Law (as it is actually written), Dawkin's Selfish Gene. A deer with good genetics could be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Biologists refer to that as "Demonic Guidance or Demonic Interference". If luck didn't play a factor, then there would not be roadkill.
