Just picked up my first 4Runner last week on 12/30 and I couldn't be happier. I was going back and forth between a new Bronco or a new 4Runner, I think I made the right decision! I'm not into extreme off roading so I opted for the SR5 Premium which should be plenty adequate for some light off roading this summer. I may do a few things to it such as step rails and maybe the Pro roof rack but that maybe it for now. It's a 2023 so if anyone has any suggestions for step rails I would love to hear them.

    Thanks, Jeff

Congratulations on the purchase, Jeff. i had an SR5 Premium previously and had no issue with it other than wanting to get rid of the stock Dunlops.

Form some reason those tires just did not provide the ride I was accustomed to.

In regards to the step rails, check around some of the other threads and see if anything "talks to ya"

    Welcome to the forums!

    Welcome from CO.

I would highly suggest to sell stock tires and get good A/T tires that has 3 peak mountain snow flake rating. FB market place and Craigslist are easiest to sell your tires when they have very low miles.

I would vote against getting TRD Pro roof rack. Try using stock roof rails as much as possible. If that doesn't work out well then go for low profile aftermarket.

As for steps I highly suggest getting full steps vs nerf bars / predator steps. Full steps will not only function as a safe step in winter it will also give some level of protection to the side of the vehicle with all the small rocks we have on gravel roads and trails.

Shops like RCI & RSG are great for adding protection like skids & sliders if you want / when you are ready. Also there is a guy call "Hugo" at a shop called R4T in Denver. I haven't met a Toyota expert in any other shop around here as him. He also coordinate some trainings with other people.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm down in the Springs but Loveland isn't too bad of a drive, I usually go through there on the way back from Estes Park.

I tried doing a picture in the media library feature but it keeps putting it upside down, LOL. I'll have to mess with it more later.
