I called Toyota today to get a price on a TRD Pro grille, and they won’t sell you a TRD Pro grille unless it’s from a TRD Pro. They will need your vin number to confirm and order. The reason is that any modifications can affect sensors.
    Anyone experienced this?

I'm not sure why but you can try BAM Wholesale Parts. The part number is PZ323-35058.

That’s odd because the Pro bumper is the same as the SR5 and TRD under the heritage grille

There are dealers that give you that line every time. Plenty of other sources. Did the dealer who wouldn't sell you one at least give you the cost?

The links provided by @LA260 have OEM parts, and are considerably less than what the dealer quoted you.

As stated above they are BS'ing you. I got an OEM pro grill for a 22 SR5 and it fit perfect. I installed myself and they made a little cutout to fit around the TSS. I would find the cheapest online dealership!

Just to confirm. The OEM pro grille from the dealership does have a notch on the bottom to fit around the TSS? How much of it covers the TSS.

Toyota did the same thing with the 2nd Gen Tacoma TRD Pro. As long as it was in production you couldn't order OEM TRD Pro parts unless your VIN was for a TRD Pro and the price was ridiculous. People were actually selling VIN Numbers on TacomaWorld. That's why the aftermarket popped with 3D printed Pro Grilles. Now that they are no longer in production you can buy all the new old stock you want, cheap. I just bought a set of TRD Pro Headlights for my 2013 TRD O/R for $410 shipped.

Yes it is a little cutout/notch. To me, it doesn't look like it covers any of it. Maybe a 1/4 of an inch (total random guess).

If it covered the TSS sensor to the effect it caused an issue, I dont think Toyota would put it on their vehicles... It covers as much as the piece is thick. 1/4" is a very liberal number. I would say closer to 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch. And the aftermarket options are plentiful for vehicles with TSS, about half the price and look just as good IMO.

I would think the OEM pro grille name plate would work, because isn’t that the exact same part Toyota uses on the TRD pro models with TSS? Also isn’t it installed the same way if we were to apply it to a non TRD Pro 5gen 4Runner?

I haven’t tried to do an order yet, but I just read that the VIN must be entered to complete the order.
I’ll give it a try and see what happens.

Pretty sure they'll sell if you call the right one. Or go the cheaper route with the after market options. Same with the black valences.
