Is there a list i can refer to that explicitly states the trims that have tpms for the spare tire. ie shows all 5 wheels and pressures on the dash? also is there a way to add this if its not included in like a 22 or 23 sr5? i read somewhere there's a sensor under the carpet in the trunk above the spare. Any help is appreciated because i asked the dealer and was told it cant be added.

None Since by design the TPMS system can only read 4 and I have seen the system get confused or Error when there are 5 if it happens to read it because the Spare never rotates while driving down the road. So none of the Toyota Trims have a 5 sensor reader simply because in order to work correctly it needs the spinning action from driving.

I am sure someone here will chime in , but I thought the" Limited " model shows 5 tire pressures?

maybe im supposed to ask if its possible to upgrade the tpms system to that on a limited trim which indicated the spare or 5th wheel as in photo above....either anyone tried this before...?

Again by design no you can not change it if it does not have it and if a 5th TPMS is put in we seen it error out sometimes since those system need to see the tire spinning to work even thought you can program the id of it in and I'm done for the night since I'm on my 5th Crown XR and not clearly putting everything down (assuming too much?) Cheers!

please read through the link and take a look at the pic i posted. Rotation is not needed to read the pressure in the spare tire because there's a sensor above it under the carpet that communicates with a tpms in the spare the tire pressure and can be read from the dash .All im trying to know is if there's a trim that didn't have this feature had it added by diy or someone knowledgeable.

As far as I know the limited and trd pro on the newer models (2020+?) can be reprogrammed to show the spare tire pressure on the dash by the dealer or anyone with the Toyota programming tool.
    Not sure about other trims

    It's a long list...
That is not a TPMS Receiver. That is the indoor luggage compartment smart key antenna. The TPMS receiver is located in the driver side quarter panel and is integrated with the door control receiver for the wireless lock/unlock from the fob/key.

    Hope that helps.

thanks for the clarification i was initially convinced it was because of the thread i got it from the guy said it was.... i even popped my trim out and saw the wire leading there...my next step was to put in an oem tpms sensor in my spare and use techstream to activate it if it wouldn't on its own..guess m back to square one..lol

I think it’s a good question, but have it or not, I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.

Do it old school, check your tire pressure every so often and include the spare (in case you need it )
