Used it to go to work today after being out of country this week for work & tonite taking my lovely bride out for our anniversary dinner!. We got dusting of snow ,but wicked winds & teens to single digit temps tonite.

 

Installed a Pedal Commander in my 2020. Sure made a difference.

 

I did the Sprint Booster. Yeah, the throttle response matches the foots expectations.

 

i had one for about a year.. sold it recently and now missing it lol..

 

Just finished installing front seat risers. Tomorrow, I mount the rear camera and cable.
Waiting for the Super Springs Sumos to get here. Possibly tomorrow.

 

And yes I cleaned up the wiring before putting it back together lol

 

So while returning home my buddy's wife put the TRD Pro from 4H to 4L on highway while driving. Dash had give Christmas light check engine light, traction light, multi terrain light, etc. I was not there when it happen so this is based on the call he gave me on the way. While he went home I ask him to remove the battery for about an hour and put it back. It was a not a bad day for us, Christmas lights were gone and everything seems normal.

Lesson learn teach wife / GF to shift to 2wd putting pressure more towards left. Just sharing before you folks face this situation.

 

I suppose you might not know, but I wonder if actually engaged into the 4lo gear, or maybe it just grinded the gears a bit. If she was traveling at speed, I would have expected the gear box to grind, or if it engaged, the engine to over-rev by A LOT.

 

Have to ask when my friend has calm down. He was in a bit of a panic situation. After the dash lights are off he is little ok but at this moment I'm looking for new 4Runners since he want to trade. I'm no kidding, here's the links I have so far..

We had to switch back and forth 2H and 4H with snow and ice on some of the roads. When hitting the dry road my friends wife had accidentally shift to 4L instead of 2H since the manual transfer case have both towards the same towards front. She didn't realize she was pushing towards right forward to 4L at a speed.

 

Did he say which lights came on? Or was it the usual all of them?

 

I think it wouldn't actually get into 4L, because 4L requires the vehicle to stop and be in Neutral before it engages. Not sure what happens if it's not in Neutral or if not stopped.

 

Not sure what happened as I was not in the car. I'm sure it was chaos in the car. My buddy must have acted like Kevin Hart. This is all based on the call he gave me on my way home.

When this happened all the lights came on even after switching it back to 2wd. Turn off and on the car nothing had happen. 4H seems to work. I asked can you switch to 4L and press terrain management, traction button and back to 4H to see the warning lights turn off? But nothing had happened. So I ask him to remove the battery cable and let it sit for about 1hour and see if the codes would reset. And that have worked. According to him now there's no warning lights.

I was thinking the same, and he never mentioned which gen 4runner. 5th gen is impossible. I've accidentally tried it.

 

For the first time in my life, I crashed into my house, and never felt so defeated haha.

I forgot my yakima roof pod was on the runner while I was backing my little motorcycle trailer into the garage, luckily the boat was in the garage as well, so I wasn't backing it in as fast as I usually do. Heard a slight crunch and knew exactly what happened, yup, I'm an idiot. Thank god it just took off a little bit of stucco off the house, didn't crack the pod, and most importantly no damage to the 4runners' roof and trackbars.

Lesson learned LOL.

 

Got the Cali raised low profile ditch lights on today. Install went as advertised except I did not use the extra short bolts provided. I cut down the original bolts that come with the lights. They are stainless (not zinc plated) and the larger metric bolt head locks into the light bracket unlike the smaller standard bolt head which just spins in the bracket. Just needed two metric nylon locking nuts.

I readjusted my passenger side windshield wiper. I think something popped out of place when I was dumb and tried engaging the windshield wipers on an icy day right after turning the 4Runner on. It wasn't wiping in the center of the passenger side windshield anymore. I popped the windshield wiper housing off, removed the rubber insert, checked the metal shafts in each side of the rubber insert, and carefully put it all back together. It seems to be wiping evenly now. Yay. I also did a little bit of 4HI on the ice. It's icy here in NJ.

 

2019 4runner TRD Pro.

 

My build continues, purchased a Tom Woods double cardan driveshaft with heavy duty wall and 1310 u-joints.
Install will be sometime after the new year.
