I recently purchased a '21 TRD Offroad 4Runner and this forum has been awesome to plan my build. One thing I haven't been able to find is a good thread on a front bumper replacements that are compatible with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) front collision detection system.

I would like a bumper with a winch and good looking recovery points. The upgraded ones with light systems and bumper bars don't seem to be compatible with the TSS setup on 21+ models. Any suggestions from real installs? This is the model I'm leaning toward. What do people think of CaliRaised?

Most major companies have bumpers that are compatible with TSS. Is the TSS on 21 different than 20?
I have the CBI Baja Covert with the bull bar and zero issues with the TSS on my 2020.

Looks like the CBI Baja Covert for 5th gens is compatible up to '22 on their website. That looks sharp with the bull bar, do you have any light kit inserts you recommend?

Depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. I have the Extreme LED X6S because I wanted amber/white combo. No issues so far.

Im running a C4 lo pro with bull bar and a Baja designs S8. I have no issues with TSS or the MTM. You can see the bull bar in the MTM but it has no impact on its functionality. You get what you pay for with light bars so do some homework and think about how it will be used.

You basically have to go with a bumper that has a low bar, high bar or no bull bar at all. Mid bars will block the TSS.

I have a 2021 TRD OffRoad with a Southern Style Off-road Slimline bumper with a hoop and warn winch. The TSS works just fine with this combo as the hoop is high enough to clear the TSS sensor..

    Cheers,
    Bob

Same here no problem. Just remember to plug the TSS back in after the install or the 4R will not be a happy camper. It will even tell tale on you and you'll get emails from Toyota
telling you to get it in for service real quick like.

That's wild, email reminders to plug TSS sensors back in.
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the recommendations.
