    Hi All,

Does any one know what all parts added to the 4Runner TRD Pro after it arrived at USA?

Per the pics I see taken at the port looks like things like wheels, tires, roof rack, skid plate, badges does not come with it.

Not sure about the TRD Pro Fox shocks. May be they are installed in USA as well?
Is that's why they have paint markings just like when we install lifts locally at a 4x4 shop where they apply paint markings to visually see if bolts have turned when we come for post install inspection after 500miles?

This is very interesting. It makes sense that this is how some of these “special editions” are put together but I didn’t think so much of it was done at the receiving port.

It has been discussed that the fender trimming on the Pro also happens at the port.

I knew regional packages like XP is locally installed thing but a trim like TRD Pro is locally installed is a big thing. Even little things like TRD spare tire is same as other 4runners made me wonder this should not be from Japan factory with high quality standards.

Also I wonder where those original wheels go. Wish I could have them for free. So I could have dedicated trail tires. :D

Interesting!! I wonder how much of the “package” parts for all 4Runners are installed when they get into the port

I read on this forum before that the original shipped steelies / tires get shipped back to Japan to reuse for other shipments of Pro's.

I thought all 4runner models besides limited came with steel spare and a highway tire( same wheels the trd pro come to port with). Limited have a matching 20" spare.

I was not happy that Pro not having a matching tire like other trims. Yes the wheel is a black steely.

And yes for Limited its 5 matching tires and 5 matching wheels as well.

My guess is that those "original wheels" are sent back in a container to Japan for next vehicles consignment

Did anyone noticed 2023 TRD Pro has lot of accessories from ARB?
May be this would be a sign Pro might have OME suspension vs Fox in future? May be? I would love to have Toyota branded OME BP51 with compression and rebound adjustment.

Also ARB base rack seems more functional than TRD Pro rack and might fit in most garages after lift.

    What’s with the bumper jack?

Won’t work with our plastic bumpers. Status symbol?

I would hate to get that spare off the roof. Looks ready for the mall parking lot though.

Hopefully they would offer a proper rock slider that can be used with the hi-lift jack. I guess the rock rail Toyota offered last time was useless with a hi-lift jack.

True. Especially small people like me that would be not practical. If I can remember correctly my BFG KO2 LT285/70R17C spare tire was 85lbs total. Wasn't easy for to get it from the stock spare tire location. I would definitely die if I try to take it from the roof rack.

Other than that I think that rack if much better than the TRD Pro stock rack. Seems to have ton of fittings available for accessories.

Per the original topic since roof rack is fitted after the TRD Pro arrived in USA, I think Toyota has lot of potential for other good roof racks also I guess. Who knows if they would offer a roof top tent option.

That looks scary, especially with the door open.

Hi- jacks are extremely dangerous if you don't know what your doing. If you can use a floor jack or bottle jack, use it. Now if your in rough uneven terrain thats a different story. Just be careful

Ha ha.. I think the door open is to prevent possible body damage / glass break. I use hi-lift jack base for little more stability.

That hi-lift jack base even fits the stock jack.

The base is a must if you have a hilift. But there is no other "tool" like the hi-lift

Maybe it’s a second spare. Or maybe it’s to big to fit in the stock location. Folks on this board are a little too quick to shout “mall crawler” in my opinion. As far as getting the tire off the roof: gravity does all the work. I’ve witnessed a situation where the hapless driver had to jack up the rear of the vehicle on the trail to extricate his spare from underneath, and then jack up the front of the vehicle to change the flat front tire. The best place for a spare is on the back, as demonstrated by G-Wagens, Defenders, and Wranglers. In my mind it’s a toss-up whether the roof or underneath is more inconvenient.
    Ding Ding! Winner!
