If in the wrong section my apologies. Looking for seat covers that actually designed for 4Runners and not "Universal Fit". We have a 2023 and I am trying to find seat covers for my wifes 4Runner that are not plain and boring.

Wet Okole makes neoprene covers that are high quality. The thing is, we are still in 2022 so most likely nothing will show it fits a 23 just yet.

The oem covers are made from canvas and suck. Weather tech or literally any other brand but OEM will be better.

I have a Wet Okole and an OEM Toyota (canvas) rear set cover. The Wet Okole is hands down better.

I'm little scared of using seat covers because there are air bags in the seats. If you pick a seat cover I hope they are airbag certified and wish for zero additional delay in an event of airbag deploy (which I really really pray that none should face that situation or any accident).

I also wonder how seat heaters perform with a seat cover. Without a seat cover the seat heaters are just enough for CO winters on a super cold day. With a seat cover over it might not be enough for my taste. Again, no personal experience, just assuming..

Check out Caltrend. They make seat covers that are custom fit and they do have the pattern for 4runners. They also make several types (fabric and color options)

I have their durablend covers in my Jeep TJ and they are awesome for toughness but I wouldn't use that fabric in the 4runner. I'd go with their Sportstex fabric personally.

You won't be happy with neoprene. Doesn't breathe and will get hot. If you sit in them with a wet bathing suit, expect to get swamp butt. Neoprene is terrible for seats IMO.

Edit - Caltrends customer service is top notch. They are a US company

I had clazzio in my Taco. It was like they were factory seats.

I'm looking at clazzio, maybe I missed it, but do they come complete with the front and middle row seat cover or are they just for the 2 fronts?

Another vote for Caltrend. They have multiple fabrics (I got the SportsTex), the fit is great, and installation a breeze. One of the first additions to my new 4R in 2019.

Luxury all the way! My 4Runner spends most of its time at the beach, and those car seat covers are a lifesaver. Sand and water just roll right off. They're comfy too, even in the summer heat (though I do blast the AC when things get real toasty). Definitely not boring either, I got the bright blue palm tree pattern and it makes me smile every time I get in.

Marathon seat covers out of Montana have been by far the best I’ve found. My dad and I have both had multiple sets, he is very hard on them, his 2007 Tacoma with 250k miles has had them since he bought it and they have help up great to hunting, work, dogs…whatever. They are waterproof cordura nylon and they are exact fit/custom made for your vehicle. They are pricey, but overall worth it. They can be a struggle to install, they fit like a glove, you just have to be patient and take your time. They also come in lots of colors/patterns/combos. They run specials pretty often too.

I've been pretty happy with these Coverking rear seats, and I have a set in the same fabric on order from Marathon for the front.

Don't know if Marathon is any good or not yet, but they're certainly a lot slower.

I have Wet Okole waterproof seat covers. They are exact fit. And if I get dirty, the factory seat is completely protected. There are cutouts engineered into the covers to allow complete airbag deployment. They’re not cheap but the factory fit, durable materials, and factory appearance are well worth it to me.

Put a good amount of miles on the Marathon front covers now, enough for a three sentence review anyway.

    PXL_20231230_153940183.jpg

Fit is great for the zero stretch material I selected--better than Coverking but with less robust-looking stitches. The installation relies on tons of Velcro which I can hear making Velcro sounds when I adjust the seat position. Marathon offers options like extra pockets and a gun rack, and the parts (like the armrest cover) are priced individually. Speaking of the armrest, it's so tight I doubt I can squeeze a thin layer of foam in there but I'm gonna try. I got a small front seat bottom pocket which turned out to be around two inches deep. There's probably a 10mm in there right now which is about all that will fit.

Your premium probably has seat warmers. How do they do thru the wet Okoles? I had them in my Tacoma years ago and loved them. I thought about adding them again to protect my seats. Just not sure how they will work thru the heated seats.

I ordered custom covers from https://www.shearcomfort.com/Custom-Seat-Covers.asp . They are fully custom fit. I didn't like that I had to remove the plastic seat trim/encasement before installing the front seat covers but they look pretty good. Different fabrics available.

I am late but looking for seats for my 2017. These look good but how is it connected on the bottom of the seats? I hate the elastic with hook setups

CalTrend uses nylon straps with buckles & clips that you tension by pulling them tight. No elastic with hooks.

We have wet okole and they have been great. Starting to wear now but not bad for 6 years.

It has hooks and strong fastener. Make sure you watch the specific install video for T4R.

PRP makes some nice covers that are completely customizable. Wet Okole are nice and have been around for a very long time. I've done Cover King for the last two vehicles. They fit fine, but there's an area of coverage that isn't the greatest and I worry about it. It's in the corner of the seat near where the back meets the lower. You have Clazzio for the leather-look.

Personally, if money were no issue, I would go back and get the PRP covers. I got a console lid cover from them and I love it. It was just a lot to swallow price-wise.

Wow. If those really are leather, that's a steal for front & backs together...even if they aren't leather it's still a good price for a full set.
