I’m not sure if you all can see the damage I can include new pictures. However last night I swerved off the road and slid through a patch of sleeted over grass and sideswiped a post
The vehicle runs fine however the passenger side airbags all deployed and I am missing a door handle and a passenger side view mirror

What are my options for repairs and what are the cost estimates going to be?

thank you all I hope you have a better day than me!

    shit air bags deployed.

Do you have insurance? I would use that.

All the passenger side airbags deployed
Even if I am at fault will insurance cover the damage?

    lol yes....
    That's how that works.

if it's the other person's fault, their insurance pays.

    damn... that sucks OP!
You'll most likely have to pay the deductible and insurance will cover the difference in repairs (if they don't total it).

Ouch… darn deer! Should be covered by
insurance. I would ask if and how it would be reported with airbag(s) deployed. It looks like only body damage and relatively light. Although a carfax report showing airbag deployed can hurt on trade in/selling. Make sure you keep documentation if needed in future.

Hitting an animal would be covered under comprehensive coverage right? Not collision? So if the comprehensive deductible is less like 100 bucks or so OP would have a minor damage to the wallet and nothing goes to the record as a bad driver right?

Sorry for your accident. Considering what happened, it's a bit of a good thing that the exterior damage seems to be limited to the front door only, mirror, and part of the rocker panel trim. That helps on the exterior repairs. Rear door and front quarter panel appear untouched.

I had a similar circumstance many years ago and swerved to not hit a dog and sideswiped a small tree. Minor damage but the insurance company told me I was at fault and should have hit the dog. I would avoid hitting any living thing if possible and would pick the tree before the dog every time. Call your insurance company because anytime an airbag goes off the costs will be more than you want to spend.

I was told its better to hit a deer than steer into the forest and cause massive damage/loss of life.
Then you would need a convince the insurance company - that you didn't fall asleep at the wheel.
    Just my 2c.

Yep my insurance company told me the same thing. It was better to hit the dog. It was my neighbors dog 2 doors down. I didn’t need that aggravation plus I have dogs.

Only your insurance agent / company can tell you if you're covered. It depends on what type of coverage you have.

I agree, better to prioritize self-preservation and maintaining control over the energy of your vehicle, over a deer. It does no good to save a woodland creature and risk your car becoming a loose cannon that can injure or kill others. The problem is anticipating the instinctual reaction to swerve. Part of good driver training should include drilling the concept that retaining control of the vehicle is a responsibility, and make drivers aware of the instinctual reaction, and the need to squash any instinct that would toss your vehicle into an uncontrolled state.

I can understand pets can present a more difficult situation, and I would try to maneuver around if time and speed allowed. But first priority is control over your vehicle, then safely maneuver if possible.
