They will rub without a lift. I have a 2" lift and rub slightly on the front mud flaps.

So i need a leveling kit or an actual 3" lift kit for the whole truck?

If you move the fender liners forward and ditch the front mudflaps you should be able to fit those 285's with a 2" front leveling kit. The rears will fit without any mods.

You may still rub on the front cab mount so you will either need to do a cab mount chop, or you may be able to get a set of after market UCA's that will move the entire wheel and tire forward in the wheel well.

Are you trying to get those 285's to fit as cheap as possible or is budget a secondary concern?

If price is main concern you could do some 2" spacers in the front. Alternatively you could do Bilstein 5100's for a bit more money.

(Side note: I do not like the driving characteristics with stock UCA's and my 2" lift and will be buying JBA UCA's to correct lack of caster issues.)

Here's a write up on the fender liner.

Crappy picture, truck was filthy but here's what it'll look like without a lift and those exact same tires. I had VERY slight rubbing on the bottom inner lip of the front bumper when turning hard in reverse. Also removed the front mud flaps. You may be able to get away with removing your front mud flaps and some very slight trimming but there's no guarantee there. The second picture is after i pushed the inner fender liner forward. Trim that lip off and there's more than enough room in my case. Literally no two trucks are the same though. One may rub all over the place and the next may fit like a glove. Test fit them and find out.
