    OEM.

Otherwise, I think Gates or Dayco are fine.

I guess I don't know about that one. I know the name, though. Do they sell a full kit?

AISIN is the OE manufacturer for Toyota water pumps on the 5VZ (like Denso is for lots of the gadgets) - legit company

just double check you get the right kit, they’re slightly different for Autos and Manuals IIRC

I think it was $600 installed at the dealer last time so your saving around $400 doing it yourself? But they did the other belts also.

thats what I do, while you’re in there just replace everything, costs a couple extra bucks but then you know you’re set for the next 100k - do the PITA once!

My mechanic quoted me $900 for just the timing belt i think. But considering that i don’t know if everything else has ever been done or replaced, I figure the better option would be to just buy everything

Aisin and Mitsuboshi are both OEM suppliers to Toyota. My 2000 Land Cruiser took a Mitsuboshi belt.

The Aisin timing belt kits do have the Mitsuboshi timing belt in their kits.

Sorry for dumb question on this but does a 21 ORP (the same V6 for years) have a timing belt? If so what is the recommended timing to change it?

I have had these timing belts on my Honda/Acura both V6 and usually change around 8-10 years since the mileage is neglible.

I have done this twice on my 4Runner by getting the parts from Toyota. The belts were made by Mitsubishi. I strongly suggest replacing the rest of the components as well. Timing belt tensioner, idler pulley, water pump, Main engine oil seal, cam shaft oil seals, thermostat and upper/lower radiator hoses. If the radiator has never been replaced, I also suggest that you replace the radiator as well.
