Horn wiring

    Does anyone know if they sell the whole wiring kit for the horns? My ground wire seems to not be working on the low tone horn.

    I'm not really sure what you are asking. The horn appears to be directly grounded to the body...no ground wire. Unless it's a really short one and then you should just be able to solder in a new one.

    It only has a "signal" wire from the ECU.

    When I fix an air horn I ground to the body near the existing horn as well. I don't remember stock horn having a ground wire. May be i have to check again.

    I don’t really know how these wires work for the horn. The horn unit worked when i tested it off the battery, but won’t work when it’s plugged into the actual horn connected, if that makes sense

    Did you check your 15A horn fuse? Do your hazards still work?

    So, the next step would be to have someone push the horn button and test the black wire on the horn's harness connection for 12v.

    If you have 12v...then you may have a bad ground then you have some serious corrosion between the horn and the chassis. Clean that connection. You may want to check all the engine and body grounds regardless.

    If there is no 12v, then you will need to look at the wiring for the horn or the horn switch. I would think the next suspect would be the horn switch in the steering wheel.

    I find it odd, that there is no horn relay, but I guess the ECU handles that? Most cars used to have a horn relay that would go bad. At least check the fuse box and see if there isn't something marked as a horn relay. If there is, unplug and plug it back in.

    Otherwise, you'll have to investigate that black horn wire for a break or short.
