Anyone wrench on their runners lately?

I threw on a mid travel kit and did some tlc/long overdue maintenance on the wife’s 16 trail.

King 2.5 extended travel with spc’s uppers. Tires are 285/70r17 toyo mt’s with 17” methods

 

That is a beautiful 4runner.

I did some wrenching few months back to install Ironman lift. Will never do a lift install again. It was pretty sketchy to rest the vehicle on jack stands. But it was a good experience.

I was looking at Kings as my next project. So far the 4x4shops I talk with voted for ELKA 2.5DC and Fox 2.5DSC for comfort but King seems to have bit more travel. I may be willing to compromise the comfort a bit for more travel. I might remove rear sway bar as well. But still gathering info for potential maintenance / failures on that kind of setup. It would definitely be a shop install not diy install.

I would just choose your spring rate accordingly. These ride phenomenal!

 

It’s like 3.25” or so. I have the front bumper trimmed a little and have the caster kicked forward for tire clearance as well.

What would you like to know. This is our Tacoma which has been daily driven and long traveled for the past 4 years.

 

I’m currently at 650lb springs on the runner but only cause a slimline and winch is in the works soon.

 

Everyone’s trd skids always look so fresh. Am I the only one whose trd skid plate looks like this?

 

Painted ours black and just reattached the letters. Used steel it so it’s easy to touch up.
