Looks like an interesting tire choice, i may take a closer look also. I currently run the Falken MT’s.

Interesting - just bought my dobs lift and will be putting new tires on.

@Falken QA - any ideas when in December these will be available and from who? Also, any idea what load ranges the 285/70r17 will come in and their respective weights? Thanks!

Hope there will be standard load and Load C options with less weight and 3pms rating. Load E is a big no no for many 4runner owners here, atleast me personally. Pathetic on road comfort imo.

No immediate plans for 85s. However, sizes can expand in the mid-term of the product's life cycle.

No specific date at the moment, as they are at sea at the moment. This is our inventory month to build stock.

What I can say is that any distributor/retailer will have access to this.

The LT285/70R17 will come in both a C and E load, weighing 63 lbs and 65 lbs, respecitively.

Yes on LT265/70R17 size, E load, weighing at 52 lbs. They will not be snowflake/3 peak rated. Majority of the R/T or hybrid tires are not 3 peak rated, with the exception to Hankook's Dynapro XT and Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. Kenda's Klever R/T has stud holes but is not 3 peak rated.

At the moment, our initial release sizes will all be LT sizes, ranging from C to F load. There may be plans in introducing non-LT sizes during mid-term product cycle, depending on demand.

Majority of R/T and M/T tires contain 3 plies for the durability factor and it's targeted segment (our Wildpeak RT is 3 ply SW). Our understanding is that Toyo offers non-LT sizes from 17-20's with a 2 ply sidewall of their Open Country R/T and R/T Trail, with one size being a P285/70R17. However, it is not 3PMSF rated.

In the 4Runner community since there is a huge demand for Falken Wildpeak P285/70R17 I bet it would be the same for 255/80R17 size. People would love to have standard load tire option with 3PMSF rating. Imo if possible 255/80R17 with Load C 3PMSF rating and weight around 45lbs would be a really really good start.

Good looking tire! I'd try them, but my Goodyear Ultra Terrains won't wear out, and when they do, my cousin said to ask her for a 50% off coupon on a new set of Goodyear/Cooper tires.

@Falken QA I understand that these won’t be 3 peak rated but is the type of rubber used in it more similar to the A/T3W? I am just concerned about them turning to rocks when it gets cold. If they share a similar rubber to the A/T3W these tires look wicked good with that tread pattern!

Will the LT255/80R17 be in a load range E or F? If so, I'm trying to throw my money at you through the screen. I wish more tire companies understood just how many of us like the pizza cutters.

Its a mixture of an AT and MT composition. You can think of it as a mud terrain tire with all-terrain characteristics (low noise, mileage warranty, smoothness/on-road livability). If you like more details, reach out to us via phone at 1800-723-2553 ext 2 and we can send you over to the product team or email us at technical@falkentire.com.

We do offer the AT3w in the LT275/70R17 in a C load. However, I'll pass this info along to the product team for consideration for size expansion for the RT's

It will be offered in a E load range. load index is 121/118 with a speed rating of R. specs are:
    33.3" tall
    10.3" wide (sidewall to sidewall)
    7.1" tread footprint
weighing in at 59.8 or about 60 lbs to keep it simple.

Interesting. We have them on our Tundra and have been planning on putting them on our 4Runner in the spring when it needs tires. What didn't you like about yours? The ones you liked do look nice as well.

I have replaced two tires due to tread totally chunking off. My buddy has replaced 3 for the same reason.
