Idle issues on 2nd gen 4runner

What’s up people, I have a 1993 4runner and lately I’ve had many idle issues and I’m not sure what it is exactly. When I start it up for the first time it starts up fine, but once I turn it off after driving it, it struggles to start up again. If I try to start it 30 min to an hour after driving it, it starts up then the idle drops and it stalls, but if I start it up 10-15 min after driving it, it starts up fine still. Also when it starts to stall I quickly put it in drive and take off, after like a minute of driving the idle stays normal and it doesn’t stall anymore. I hope that made sense, I haven’t been able to find anything like this while researching.

 

What is your idle speed? The idle is very easy to adjust on these if you have the 3.slow.

 

Yeah it’s a 3.slow, when I first start it, it stays at 750 or 800 rpm, when I start it 15 min after driving it, it stays at 500 rpm, and when it stalls it goes to 400 and then stalls

 

Try cranking it up to about 900 and see what happens. Could be a fuel issue too. Either the pump not delivering like it should or maybe the filter is clogged.
