I bought my 4Runner and I was given that Toyota Care Maintenance plan for free as I am sure everyone else is.

How many oil changes do I get for free? Did I just do the last one I get free?

If so, I plan on doing them myself, but until then, free is free.

You get two free oil changes. One at 10k, other at 20k. You can do that at different times as well.

when I bought mine, I had free toyotacare up to a certain date, regardless of how many visits. don't have my logs available but I think it was 4 or 5 oil changes and tire rotations

Call you dealer and ask them, after all it will be them that will do it for free or not!

My 21' ORP just turned 15,000 miles. I had my first dealer oil change done at the regular 10,000 mile recommended interval at no charge. But since I retired this past January 01, it has taken me nine months to add the next 5,000 miles. I don't have the 46 mile M-F daily commute to work anymore.
So that fact, coupled with videos and other posts on this Forum, I've decided I need to change the oil every 5,000 or six months, whichever comes first. And based on my current status, it looks like it will be months versus miles. LOL
So, I took it in to my dealer yesterday and had the oil changed. Found out that I had 4 free oil changes from new. 2 from Toyota Care/Maintenance, and 2 from the dealer. So I used my first Toyota change at 10K. But by the time I get to 20K my time limit will likely expire (2yrs.?) before I can use my second Toyota free oil change. But then I still have one more free change from the dealer.
I want to thank other members on this Forum for their posting of videos and input. I plan on keeping my 4R for a long time.

Curious side note: While at the dealer, I noticed the new car showroom was completely empty. And it appeared to be only a handful of new cars on their lot. No 4R's or Taco's.

A friend of mine's girlfriend is seriously considering a new 4R. But she likes the TRD/ORP like mine. But she had to use my 4R to test drive as she mentioned none of the dealers in town had a TRD trim to test drive. She said they told her that most of the 4R's - especially in TRD trim - are all pre-ordered/pre-sold by the time they receive them.

If one drives the 4R fairly regularly, say every other day, but not a lot of miles, does the 6 month interval still hold water? I’ll never make 5k miles in 6 months, more like 2k…

That's a good question. Wonder if the use of synthetic oil makes a difference with low mileage driving ?

I had my first oil change, tire rotation and wheel balance done @ 500 miles. Because I went in for suspected groaning issues. Still under 4k miles after 7 months. Not planning to change oil again till after 12 months though. Despite the Toyota free oil. Not fixing what not broken.
    Runs smoothly now.
