MD to WA state

I maybe driving from MD to Seattle next year for a family reunion. What would be a good route to take? Google is showing me a northern route of Chicago, MD, ND. Or is the southern route of Iowa, SD is better? We will not be in a hurry. I like photography, so there it is.

Oh, I forgot that. It would be summer.

 

I-90 all the way. All of the awesome parts of Montana, Idaho, but when i got to Yakima, I'd take the southern loop around Mt Rainier via SR 12 and White Pass over to SR 123 to (Stop at Paradise Lodge for spectacular views of glaciers) SR 176 and skirt the south side of Mt Rainer, then north up through Eatonville, Tacoma and north to Seattle. You'll never regret it.

 

I just did that route over the summer. I took the most northern route from DC to Chicago, Minneapolis, 94 all the way to Billings then 90 the rest of the way. Absolutely nothing worth looking at until we got to the Badlands. After that it was a beautiful drive and we were in awe.
