Is anyone else having trouble linking the app to their truck? Or is it just me. Nav came standard on my 17 I don't know why we have to deal with this garbage now

Could you be a bit more specific? Are you trying to run a third party app through the head unit? Standard or JBL? I am not positive, but I do not believe you can run visual apps through the OEM head unit?

Trying to run the app through my head unit. Standard not jbl. They no longer come standard with nav so you’re instructed by Toyota to download scout gps app and connect it via bluetooth. I’ve watched a few different vids and of course none of the vehicles used are 4runners. Basically every time I try to pair the app via blue tooth, it says im not connected to the vehicle. Which is a load of dung because my phone is certainly paired to the head unit.

That stopped working on our Rav4 about two years ago. One of the reasons we traded it in for a 4Runner with carplay and Android auto.

I think we got a notice that it would be non supported soon after it quit working.

I don't think '17 supports Carplay. I could be wrong but I think that started in '20 or '21.

So, you mean that your '17 has nav, it worked fine, but Toyota stopped supporting it so they force you to use Scout instead? And now the stock nav doesn't work? If so, that's B.S. Why would they do that, that's horrible.

the '17 is gone pecan. It came with nav standard and there was nothing wrong with it. I have a 22 now. And this is the one thing that's driving me up the wall

Ah, I was going by your signature that lists a '17. Mine '22 has nav and Carplay, but the standard nav seems to work just fine. So yes, you now have Carplay and it works well so that is what I'd use if I didn't have built in nav. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh yeah, use Carplay. Scout just ok, but there were places it could not find by name. One them had been around for a couple of decades.
