Used a little bit more than 1 can on the roof rails. It was a rushed job with toddlers running around me and it being my first time doing anything like this. Looks rough up close but good enough from afar for now. Will definitely redo it in the future. Especially with a can costing $5. I bought a bike tire removal tool to take off the rail caps for $2 at a local bike shop and let the plastidip sit in hot water prior to spraying.

How long before I can take it through the auto wash?

How did you get the front and rear pieces that's part of the bumpers with no separation to not rip and keep a straight line when removing the tape?

Ugh. If I sprayed it again now would i be able to salvage it or would I need to remove and redo this section?

If it were me, I'd start over. You'll have bubbles under the first layer, where it is peeled up

Just finished the fenders. It came out just fine and I do think plastidip is pretty dope. However, the black that I got didn't give it the pop I was hoping/going for bc it was so close to the mag gray. d85cd84142b3d3b27f35ac9daf90683c_5f8dcf3719015a4c1ff2498c34a5b0f08730dd7c.jpg5bbee5c09c08b030fc22a2f0de495b2e_72058170342fe70e8218fbd4a92b6e7935926692.jpg3f9826242714aaa5a7c25f07ec324438_618053a9eae2e22d200f84f5ed8cd293b01a96a8.jpg

Hey that looks good! Yeah I had to apply some heavy last coats to keep it wet enough to pull the tape away quick enough to create the separation. Having done some work to the hood of my Tundra I was ready for the nuisance, but only discovered that upon committing to the task on the 4Runner lol.

Sorry I didn't think to mention that honestly, glad you attempted it again with success!! I like the look.. and those steps ;)

Finally got my ride back from the shop. They installed my TRD Pro grill and valance cover. Put in 5100 bilstiens all around with the front end set to .85 to level out the stance. Had a moonroof, TRD off road wheels, KO2 tires, and a remote start put in as well. Needless to say, I'm even more in love with the 4Runner.

IMG_0901.jpg IMG_0902.jpg IMG_0912.jpg Finally finish first round of modifications to my 2017 4Runner limited. Wrapped all the chrome and roof rack in matte black. Added bug deflector, window visors and nfab side bars. Bilstein 5100 lift with 275/55/20 BFG KO2. Pretty happy with the chrome being gone and the overall look. Bonus pic of my puppy Zoey!

Nice! I spent the last 13 years in San Diego, until I escaped to Texas last June. Love that city, too bad it's attached to the rest of California

It's definitely different haha. I probably wouldn't recommend Houston after living in San Diego. But Texas overall has it's pros and cons. I really miss the mountains and skiing, and I've started applying for jobs in Utah. Texas isn't for me, but I'm glad to be out of California

Love the black out chrome. I'm planning on doing the same thing. Did you wrap the back 4Runner badge or plasti dip it?

I took mine back to the Dealer and asked them why they charged me a grand for a TRD Pro Grille yet one wasn't installed on the truck! The blame was put on the addendum window sticker maker at the Dealership, and instead of giving me a grand back they are ordering one, then have to send it out for paint because the TRD Pro Grille doesn't come in Magnetic Gray? Whether deliberate or honest mistake, I'm sure lot's of folks would have never known the difference, only reason I did is because i was looking at the Tacoma TRD Pro Grille to put on my Tacoma, which was traded in on the 4Runner.

The TRD Pro grill doesn't get painted at all. It replaces the upper section of the black plastic grill and then the "TOYOTA" section is held on with double sided tape. Sounds like your dealer is clueless and/or trying to make up excuses. Do yourself a favor and just get the grill from them and install it yourself. Not sure i'd trust them at this point.

I've actually seen a few dealers here put the TRDPRO logo on the sides of the vehicle even though it was a trail or off road.

Wow, was that intentional to try and fool someone to get more money for the vehicle or an honest mistake? I believe my situation was a unintentional error only because of the fact that the 4Runner they put on the showroom to replace the one I bought was identical other than the color, and didn't have that 998 dollar charge on the addendum sticker like mine did.

No they put in the listing what model it was then "with TRD PRO trim" or something like that, I just thought it was kind of bush league, surprised they could even do that as a legit toyota dealer. They just tried to make some of the regular 4runners look more "tough" I suppose...

Well I suppose it is no different than the Tacoma owners on TW that put the "Pro" badging on their SR5 trucks, LOL.

I believe in debadging as much as possible. The last thing I would do is add more badges lol I like the clean simple look. I do intend to install the TRD Pro grill on my 4Runner but not to try and clone a Pro, simply because I like it better than the OEM grill.

Took my first trip on some trails that I found on Reddit over in Jackson, right behind the Six Flags Safari. Nothing crazy but enough to pop it into 4WD here and there. Took my four kids and 9 month pregnant wife too... they loved it ! Even got to see some giraffes, goats, ostriches, etc without paying for safari tickets ! 911a23fba68b15f4f0bec9e47887848f_18f8530780a1603d8b3922fc9ed28c4619f31726.jpg48a45c119d1ee36b6461fd93a45baf82_af634c7537e262887def21f5005d17444ebe4192.jpg4b8d7a2ca3a60875a9876793e257f1f8_7cf579156f31247075dc2b1437f572519b61fb85.jpga7131c164f1ccab26deafdba4995742c_bb26662487aae5ec324b7bd26617bb8ad5d7137a.jpg1d77e617ef06acb5dec704ecb0e1f601_a3e00f709595dbb87ae23e576a0e430794752744.jpge30e31c145fcfb8b2042e8f3a0da8b75_eddef6059bd79615e8e474de3241c19701c658a0.jpg46aba81c71f86e36afc6b817827f354a_7a2f24a520a8a5edc75a1200b1cb59e622cc7a8e.jpg
